ITC asked Jason the following:

Why did you start Eyes on Lane Cove in Lane Cove?

The vibrant village atmosphere of Lane Cove attracted me to acquire and build-up the established business of Eyes on Lane Cove.  I recognised the potential to provide stylish and quality eyewear. The family orientated location was a definite bonus.

What is the philosophy behind Eyes on Lane Cove?

To provide individualized professional service catering to our patients’ requirements – their satisfaction is important to us.

What did you do before you owned Eyes on Lane Cove?

After working for another optometrist for 5 years, it was time to fulfill my vision to own & operate my practice.

Is it true that after 43 men’s eye sight dramatically change?

“Life may begin at 40” but a fact of life is that eyesight does deteriorate for both men & women after 40 – sorry!

What can people do to protect their eye sight?

Regular check-ups and wear appropriate eyewear, i.e. prescribed spectacles/contact lenses, sunglasses when outdoors, and for tradespeople – safety glasses. Also, do what is recommended by their optometrist.

How often should people get their eye sight tested?

Regular eye examinations should be at least every 2 years or as necessary.

Have you ever had anyone who just walked in and said I want glasses to look smart but don’t need them?

Of course, on some occasions, people buy glasses who don’t need them but just want them to look smarter, mainly for a job interview (or work) or just to accessorise.

Do you try to employ locals?

Absolutely (all of our staff live locally) – we like to support the local community spirit.

What is your vision for Lane Cove and the Lane Cove Plaza?

Lane Cove has a special uniqueness where it is recognised as a village offering something for the whole community.

What other shops would you like to see In the Cove?

I think we already have a good mix of specialty stores & services.

Finally, which celebrity would you like as your patient?

Why do we need celebrities at our store?  We feel all our clients are VIP’s.
