Pure Flowers Lane Cove – Flowers to Delight the Mind and Senses

festive flowers

It has always been ITC’s dream to be a florist. Being surrounded by beautiful flowers all day seemed ideal. ITC enrolled in a floristry course, only to find that I had no creativity. I could not even master the most basic floristry skills. Being a florist is hard work!! Being a creative florist is even harder work!!. So that dream went on the back burner. However that does not stop me from loving flowers and stalking florist shops.

If you are ever want to put a smile on your face or look at a beautiful shop, go and visit Pureflowers Lane Cove (located in the same arcade as Baker’s Delight and The Cake Man). It is a visual treat to enter this shop.

At this time of year Pureflowers is especially delightful to visit. The shop is adorned with stunning wreaths (that you can buy). You can also order some live wreaths or festive flowers for your Christmas Table.

Pureflowers is not just a florist, it is also a beautiful gift and homewares shop. You can purchase gorgeous gifts for your loved ones, partner or bff. They stock the very popular Palm Beach Candles and soaps. If, like ITC, you can never have enough vases in your life, then a visit to Pureflowers is mandatory.

Pureflowers is collaboration between two very creative individuals Ludmila and Elen. It was a collaboration that was meant to be!! Ludmila and Elen were both busy corporate woman who felt they needed a creative outlet. Separately they enrolled at the Pearsons School of Floristry.   They had never met until the Floristry course, but their paths were destined to cross. They both lived near each other and they had attended the same primary school.   Elen and Ludmila became the owners of pureflowers in 2011.   Why set up a business in Lane Cove? Ludmila had worked in Lane Cove for years. She loves the friendly people, the great community and the green leafy suburb. The village atmosphere was the draw card. Ludmila and Elen always have time to chat and help you with your flower selection. However behind the scenes they have a very busy business. They deliver Sydney wide. Pureflowers is always is demand for weddings, birthday, special events and corporate events. They have regular clients in the CBD who will not use anyone else for their office flowers.

Pureflowers has an extensive website. With parking in Lane Cove always a nightmare, you can relax at home and order your flowers online. You can choose from some beautiful arrangements (some already in vases) from the web site.

Pureflowers also runs flower-arranging courses. They have just finished for the year; however keep an eye out for new courses next year (they will be on their website and you can book online). The flower arranging courses give Ludmila and Elen quality time with their customers.

ITC was really interested to know what were the most popular flowers. Guess what? Roses are a favourite all year round. Hydrangeas and Hyacinth are also very popular (such a pity they have a short season). In spring people love Ranunculuses.

We asked Pureflowers for a good tip to keep your flowers looking fresh. Their tip:

You should always use a clean vase for your flowers. Sometimes you will find that your vase has a build up of grime that is hard to reach, especially when you have a narrow or tapered vase. Try this easy tip – fill your vase with water, add one tablet of denture cleaner, e.g. Steradent.  Let the tablet dissolve and then rinse your vase with water. You will have a sparkling clean vase ready to fill with fresh flowers.

Pureflowers is now taking orders for beautiful festive Christmas flower bouquets. These orders will be delivered right up until Christmas Eve.  On their new website, you can order 24/7.

It was a delight interviewing Ludmila and Elen, the moral of the story is that …if there is something you have always wanted to do – just do it. If Ludmila and Elen had not taken this advice beautiful flowers and homewares would not surround them.
