ANZAC Day 2015 Lane Cove Remembers

Lane Cove came out in force this ANZAC Day.  ITC has been to a few ANZAC Day ceremonies in Lane Cove and this crowd was the largest we have seen.  It is estimated that over 3000 people packed the plaza.

Congratulations to the Lane Cove RSL sub branch for such a moving ceremony.  There were many wonderful speakers.  I know that Miss ITC will remember hearing from the families of Lane Cove WWI diggers.  Their stories seemed so personal. You could envisage where they lived and what they did in Lane Cove.

This is how one In the Cove Facebook Fan described the ceremony:

I honestly do not know how many “committees” “organisations” “sub-committees”, “liaison” with participating schools/Scouts etc. etc.are involved in creating the atmosphere in the Plaza today. Clearly not one person but many and today I have never been more proud of being a resident of Lane Cove. I do not think there is any way to improve what happened today – Congratulations to the organisers who made my Special Centenary ANZAC day, a day I will never, never, forget.

We asked you to send in your photos of your ANZAC Day commemorations. The photos did not have to be taken in Lane Cove, we just wanted to see the wonderful ways you commemorated ANZAC Day. Here are some of the entries we received.
