Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote in In the Cove’s inaugural Foodie Awards. We will be holding them again at the same time next year. One thing that we learned from the Foodie Awards is that the name of a particular restaurant is not always known. We had some hilarious descriptions (such as the place above the dress shop in the mall opposite Coles or Pottery Barn for Pottery Green). Luckily the results were pretty clear so we did not have to rely on working out the exact name.
The Foodie Awards closed on 10 October 2015 (so some of Lane Cove’s new restaurants and cafes were not part of our survey). We love walking down the plaza and seeing the bustling cafes. The vibe in the Plaza has certainly changed over the last few weeks.
So drum roll please, the winners are….
The voting in this category was close. The winner is Via Napoli Lane Cove. The runners up were Dinner with the Cake Man and The Lodge.
The winner is The Cake Man. The two runners up were Story and The Lodge
The winner is The Cake Man. The runners up were Bakers Delight Lane Cove, Pottery Green Bakers and One Seed Patisserie (it was a close call between the runners up).
The winner is Story. However Pablo & Rusty’s Lane Cove were a close second. Interestingly we asked you to nominate your favourite coffee shop in 2012 and the winner was Story (with Pablo & Rusty’s Lane Cove coming a close second). You are consistent.
The winner is The Longueville Hotel. Charles at the Longueville Sporting Club (aka the Diddy) was the runner up.
We asked you for your favourite place for dessert, ice cream/gelato/frozen dessert etc.
The winner is Gelatissimo and the runner up was Meno Diciotto Gelateria
We had a great variety of answers to this question. Mr ITC will be pleased. His favourite dish won. The winner of your favourite dish was the Tandoori Lamb Backstrap Fillets with rice, chutney and mint sauce created by Charles at the Diddy.
Three dishes from The Lodge were runners up: The Breakfast bruschetta, the Zucchini Fries and the Gnocchi were all very popular.
The New York Smokey Beef Burger at the Longueville Hotel was also very popular.
Two other popular dishes were the Beef and Chicken Pho at Pottery Green Bakers (ITC has heard people rave about this) and the Sashimi Plate at Maruya.
The winner is Chargrill Charlies. Those French fries will get you every-time. The runners up were Bangkok Bar (located on Burns Bay Road across from IGA Express), and Crust Pizza.
The winner is the Laughing Ganesha. You love your Indian Food. The runners up were the Delhi Hut and Maruya.
Out of interest we asked you if there was a type of restaurant that was missing In Lane Cove. The responses were as follows:
Mexican
Burger
Wholefoods (we do receive quite a few request for this on www.facebook.com/inthecove)
Seafood (this survey was complete before Fourth Fish opened)
The winner of our $100 food voucher to a Lane Cove Restaurant of your choice is Emma Chegwyn. Thank you to everyone who took part in the Survey.
