Lane Cove Christmas Wiindow Display Comp

The Lane Cove Chamber of Commerce, the Lane Cove Council and In the Cove have partnered to bring Christmas Cheer to the windows of Lane Cove Council Area with the Lane Cove Christmas Window Display Competition.

Lane Cove retailers and businesses, with a shopfront in Lane Cove Council Area are encouraged to get into the Christmas Spirit by entering the Lane Cove Christmas Window Display Competition. decorating their windows. Plus shoppers can also get involved for a chance to win vouchers to their favourite Lane Cove store. 

If you are a business:

Dress your front window to go in the draw to win some amazing prizes, including:

First Prize within the Lane Cove Village – $300 donated by Lane Cove Chamber of Commerce for a Business located in Lane Cove Village Area.

First Prize beyond the Lane Cove Village – $300 donated by Lane Cove Council’s Love Where You Shop Campaign to a Business Located outside the Lane Cove Village area (but still within the Lane Cove Council Area).

Second Prize – $200 donated by Lane Cove Chamber of Commerce

People’s Choice Prize – $100 donated by Lane Cove Council

If you are a business, this is what you need to do:

  1. Register here for the Lane Cove Christmas Window Display Competition.
    Decorate your window by 12th December 2015;
  2. Encourage shoppers to vote by adding our festive poster to your window;
  3. Take a photo; and
  4. Email the photo with contact details to [email protected]

Why get involved?

We are encouraging community members to get out about this Christmas to visit Lane Cove shops. Community members that take a photo of their favourite window and post it to social media will have the chance to win shopping vouchers for Lane Cove shops. In addition to the chance to win prize money, businesses will also benefit from free promotion on social media.

Photo Comp

How to enter:

  • Snap your favourite Christmas window display;
  • Add your photo to Instagram including the name of the business and suburb in your post;
  • Tag & Post using # LaneCoveChristmas and tag #inthecove
  • The photo judged the most creative will win – this is a game of skill not chance.

You will win a $50 gift voucher from you favourite Lane Cove shop donated by In the Cove.

People’s Choice

You can vote for your favourite Christmas window online here, You will win a $50 gift voucher from your favourite Lane Cove shop donated by In the Cove. All you have to do is vote and then tell us in 25 words or less why you like the Christmas Window.

Terms and Conditions  – Residents

Photo Comp – Entrants may submit multiple entries of photos of different shop displays (Each entry should only feature one display).

People’s Choice – Only one entry per person is permitted.  People’s Choice entries via voting will close 23rd December 2015.

Photos submitted must be a business located in the Lane Cove Council Area. To be eligible for the prize draw, the name of the business and suburb it is located in must be mentioned in the entry. Hashtag must be used if posting on social media. Entries must be received by 20 December 2015 and the winner will be drawn on 21 December 2015. An entry from a business who has registered above will not be eligible to win. This is a game of skill and not chance.

Terms and Conditions – Business

Judging will be carried out by a panel consisting of a representative from the Lane Cove Business Chamber and Lane Cove Council (or substitutes if circumstances dictate). All dressed windows must be in place for 12 December 2015. Judging will follow this and be completed by 18 December 2015. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Entrants may base the window display on any Christmas theme. The window displays will be judged on a range of criteria, including: Overall impression/visual impact – Creativity/ideas – Artistic merit – Inventive use of materials – Effort.  Window just relying primarily on considerable expenditure to achieve their impact would not meet this judging criteria.
There is no maximum or minimum size for the display.

For the purpose of the competition, Lane Cove Village is classified as businesses located south of Phoenix Street along Longueville Road up to Lane Cove Public School. It includes Plaza businesses, Rosenthal Avenue and Birdwood Lane Businesses as well as businesses on Burns Bay Road from Rosenthal Carpark to Tambourine Bay Road roundabout.
