The Gloria Jeans Shop is going to reopen as a Display Suite for Quartet Lane Cove. You might be surprised that ITC is letting you know about a development. ITC was approached by Lane Cove Ray White who advised that one of the directors of the company behind Quartet lives in Lane Cove. They wanted to know about local Lane Cove community groups they could look at assisting (ITC has been advised that some local groups have already been approached). They also wanted to know about ITC’s campaign to increase public transport to the area and how they could work with the local community. As previously said ITC is not anti development (because it is going to happen – we are pro infrastructure and support), so it was refreshing to see this group approach us.
This development will have Terraces and Units – so if you are looking to downsize in Lane Cove this might be the development for you. You can register your interest on their website.
Tavis Standen has opened a real estate office in Longueville (across from the Diddy).
NEW OPERATORS
Big News for Lane Cove Country Club
The Lane Cove Country Club is a Lane Cove Institution. The history of the club is fascinating and we will be publishing a blog on that soon. The Lane Cove Country Club holds many events for locals and local clubs and community groups (for example Lane Cove Rotary meets there and the Lane Cove Junior Rugby Union Club has their legendary dinner dances at the venue).
Lane Cove Country Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Bern the Chef as its new Caterer effective from January 2016.
In announcing the appointment Club President Michael Meade said “in 2014/5 the Club carefully reviewed the culinary needs of our members and the community. As part of our Club Strategic Plan we implemented an expression of interest programme for a qualified operator to join with us in a new approach to functions and dining at the Club. The Club extends its grateful thanks to the current operator Fairway 9, who has been with the Club for many years.”
“In appointing the very experienced and creative Bernadette Kennealy of Bern the Chef we are seeking to position the Club firmly as the leading function venue in Lane Cove as well as providing a fresh new approach to a la carte dining. Bern the Chef will work alongside the recently revitalised Café/Barbeque Tee 4 Two.”
Mr Meade concluded that “the Club warmly welcomes Bern the Chef and further details on operating hours, function and a la carte menus will be released prior to Bern opening in January.”
Bernadette Kennealy said “My thanks to the board for the enthusiastic welcome, I hope we bring a delicious contribution to the community. We are looking forward to being a part of many Rite of Passages, and contributing to being a committed and encouraging part of the LCCC, please only hold us accountable for your happy tastebuds, not your waistlines”
In addition to looking after the Country Club, Bern and her team will continue doing their corporate gigs and fabulous party catering. Here is Bern the Chef at a wine tasting at Artisian Wine Storage.
CLOSING/CLOSED
Stella Bella Home has closed but they are only taking a bit of a break, look for them to pop up in another area around Feb/March. They have been busy sourcing lovely furniture items for people’s homes and they will be back doing that soon.

Mayfair Dry Cleaners is closing after 43 years, we wish them the best in their retirement.
Pizza Hut Lane Cove closed its doors in early December. The owner told ITC they could not make money on $4.95 pizzas.

Career Counselling – Sally Payne
“Unsure of what to do after finishing High School? No matter what your results, let the experts find an option that will lead you to the future you really want! Many students that start university very quickly realise that what they are studying is not right for them, and over 30% end up dropping out in their first year or end up failing due to being unmotivated and not achieving strong results. This can lead to huge student debt, and wastes valuable time which could affect your future career path. It is even more dire in the VET sector, with colleges reporting up to 80% of students fail to complete the course they start. Why is this? • Study turns out to be very different to expectation • It is simply the wrong course for you • It is not really what you want to study • You are unsure of what you want to do in the long term.”
“This is where we come in. We are a collective of education professionals, teachers, academic advisers who have had extensive industry experience that we wish to share. We intend to find the best option for each of our customers by getting a true understanding of what they want and how you learn, and develop a tailored plan of options that will most likely lead you to the study, career and life that you want. We use our experience and expertise to help prospective student get a realistic expectation of different study & career options. We can help with everything from demonstrating a typical day in a certain job, to the best learning support options. Remember, there are always options and everybody has a path; its our job to find one that will work for you!” Contact Sally Payne – [email protected]

To make your shopping a bit easier The Little Street Car Park is now open with an extra 200 car parks and three hours free parking.
