Watch Out Lane Cove – Break and Enters Incidents

In the Cove has been advised by some of its fans about Break and Enter Incidents in Lane Cove.  The North Shore LAC listed the following recent incidents on its Facebook page.

Lane Cove 

Centennial Avenue

Between 8:00pm on Friday 25th December and 2.30pm on Sunday 27th December unknown person/s have gained entry to a garage located on Centennial Avenue, Lane Cove by unknown means and method.
The unknown persons have rummaged through items in the garage before stealing a computer server.

Gamma Road

A property located on Gamma Road, Lane Cove was broken in to between 11:00am and 11:45am on Saturday 26th December via a ground floor rear door which was closed but left unlocked. Once inside, person/s have entered three rooms upstairs in the premise and have ransacked them. The unknown persons have stolen an amount of cash, two laptops, cameras, watches, mobile phone and a backpack before leaving.

Hart Street

Between 1:30am and 6:30am on Saturday 26th December unknown persons have gained entry to a premises located on Hart Street, Lane Cover North. Entry has been gained via an unlocked ground floor front window. Once inside the unknown persons have entered the dining room and stolen a handbag, two wallets and contents and an Ipad. The occupants were at home asleep at the time of the incident, however, did not hear or see anything.

Longueville

Wangalla rd Riverview on the 24 December between 2 and 3.30pm

Greenwich

Between 6:30am on Tuesday 15th December and 9:00am on Monday 28th December unknown persons have forced entry through a ground floor window of a premise located on Kingslangley Road, Greenwich. Unknown persons have ransacked several room s before leaving the location with several lap top computers and a watch.

Police would like to remind the community about the importance of locking doors, windows and garages even when you are at home. Always ensure your premises is completely locked and alarmed (if applicable) before leaving it unattended for any length of time. If possible, store all valuables in a safe that can be bolted to the floor or walls. It is always a good idea to engrave any property of value (if possible) and take photos of them also. If you do find yourself the victim of a break and enter, contact police as soon as possible and avoid touching anything inside our outside the premises until police attend.

In addition to the Break and Enters there was a car fire incident in Lane Cove North.  Around 11:50pm on Tuesday 29th December the resident of a property located on Parklands Avenue, Lane Cove North and a family friend were asleep at the time when they were awoken by noises outside in the street. They looked outside and observed their 2015 Jaguar fully engulfed in flames. A resident from a neighbouring house was also awaken by the noise and has immediately called 000.

Police and the Fire Brigade attended a short time later. The Fire Brigade were able to extinguish the vehicle fire; however not before the vehicle sustained extensive damage. Due to the suspicious nature of the fire, a crime scene was established

Police canvassed the area and located several items in the middle of the road way which police believe may be linked to the fire and will have forensically examined as part of their ongoing investigation.

Police will allege that a male was observed running from the scene of the fire and will be following up information regarding possible suspects.
