One Village Shop Closing Down Sale – Yumi says Thank You

We are really sorry to hear that One Village Shop is to close its online store.

Many of you may have read our article last year about Yumi and her mission to create a store that only sold fair trade products. Yumi is very passionate about giving back to the community. You can read more about Yumi here.

One Village used to be located just behind Story. It was always a treat to walk into the shop and see Yumi and Caleb (her gorgeous little boy). When Yumi’s lease expired she took the business online.

Unfortunately, the beautiful Caleb has had to face some challenges in life, including multiple surgeries. This has kept Yumi and her family extremely busy and she spends half her time visiting specialists. There is some good news on the horizon for Yumi, her family is about to expand.

As you can imagine being a mother of two small children (one of them being a new born) it’s extremely hard to run a business on your own. With this in mind, Yumi is closing down the business. Yumi will tell you that since the business has been online she has missed the social interaction she had with her customers and she has not been enjoying the online business like she did her little shop with the jangling bell on the door. You never knew who was going to walk in the door.

One Village is now having a closing down sale and everything is 30% off. Just remember to put in the discount code 30%offclosingdown in the discount code box on the checkout page. So stock up on some gifts (and Mother’s Day is not that far away). In typical Yumi style, whatever stock is not cleared it will be donated to the Syrian refugees that will soon be arriving in south-west Sydney with very little in their pockets.

One Village also has some items that are not on their website including Turkish towels, Anokhi women’s fashion/homewares, Afribeads jewellery, Ocean Sole Recycled Thong animals and HATA (alpaca) women’s fashion.

They will be holding the One Village Closing Down Sale on Saturday 12th March. Feel free to come along and see the items that are not on the website.

ITC would also like to thank Yumi for her generosity. We first met Yumi when she attended an In the Cove Cancer Council Morning Tea. Yumi donated her money box towards the cause.
