We love this playground – especially because it is fully fenced. There are swings, slides, climbing frame & a really fun old steamroller. The steamroller is popular with the little ones because they like to get on it & pretend to drive.

The play equipment is easily suited to both the older kids & the younger kids. There is an area with small equipment for babies & toddlers. My girls love the swings – especially the big netted swing because they can both fit on it. The slides are fun for everyone!

I do wish there was less bark though because my girls always come home really dirty from there. The path down the middle can be quite dangerous when kids scoot or ride down there really quickly.

There aren’t any toilets in the playground but you can find some at the shops next door. There is also awesome coffee at Riverview Deli! They serve delicious treats too. Although the playground doesn’t have a designated carpark area, there is plenty of free parking on Sofala Ave, Tambourine Bay Rd & Hamilton St.

There isn’t a lot of shade so make sure you bring a hat & sunscreen if it’s a super hot day. And water! The playground has trees but they’re not adequate shelter.

We often visit this playground because there are plenty of things to do to keep my girls entertained. They love going down the slide together. My younger one likes to follow her big sister around. And I can watch at a safe distance without worrying that they will run out onto the road.

There are picnic tables and plenty of seats for everyone. But like any playground, obviously it can be quite crowded at times. But other times we’ve been there alone.

I don’t really like the jumping seats up near the shops. I think they can be quite dangerous. They’ve been there for years though, as I have memories of jumping on them as a child.

I would like Marjorie York Reserve to have less bark, less rubbish (people need to open their eyes for bins!) and more equipment. But overall, we think it’s a fantastic playground.
