Have you ever thought you would like to learn how to dance just like they do in the Bollywood Movies? Now is your chance! Monsuun Dance holds regular workshops at the North Shore Gym.

Monsuun Dance, founded by Artistic Directors Pradnya Dugal and Dharshani (Dharsha) Goonetilleke, is a Sydney based dance company offering professional Indian and Bollywood dance choreography, performances and entertainment.

What is Bollywood Dance?

Bollywood dance is a fun and vibrant form of modern Indian dance. Inspired by the high energy music of Bollywood movies, this form of dance uses vibrant and cheeky yet graceful choreographed moves for a great workout and lots of fun!

You will stretch, tone, strengthen core, improve flexibility, boost confidence & meet new friends whilst getting a cardio work out!

Monsuun Dance’s workshops and courses are taught in a professional and fun environment. You will learn some of the basic Indian “mudras” (traditional hand gestures) and facial expressions, along with popular Bollywood dance moves. After warming up with body isolation, basic dance steps and technique, you will learn a fun choreographed routine!

Suitable for all adults of all levels! Beginners are welcome (no prior dance experience required).

Of course if you love Bollywood and want to spice up a function you can book the Monsuun Dance team for your next event. Their entertainment packages include professional and colourful performances followed by mini classes, audience participation, meet and greet and Dhol players. Their main goal is to provide the best entertainment for your event!

The next Bollywood Workshop is on 25 June 2016.  The workshop is called Dance for a Cause.  
All proceeds from this class go to One Meal – Its Makes a  Difference
One Meal is a not-for-profit, community organisation that helps to feed, clothe and support the homeless and underprivileged individuals and families.

You will learn a  vibrant form of dance inspired by the high energy music of Bollywood movies and be raising money for a great cause.

And it gets better: It is BY YOUR DONATION! So you decide on your contribution towards this workshop and charity 🙂

-Date: 25th June 2016 (Saturday)
-Time: Register at 2:45pm, Workshop runs from 3-4pm
-Venue: North Shore Gym. Level 1 Market Square, 24-28 Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove (Group Fitness room).
-Cost: By donation (Cash on the day. The Charity’s donation box will be available at the venue)

What to wear: Comfortable workout clothes, barefoot or with supportive sports/dance shoes. Ladies, feel free to wear bangles, bindis, long flowing skirts and scarves (dupattas) if you would like to get into the Bollywood theme!


If you love shaking your bon bon then you may also like Zumba.  

Zumba4you is Lane Cove’s Zumba workout place. You don’t need to be a great dancer to feel welcome in Zumba! The class emphasize moving to the music and having a good time, no rhythm required!!! You’ll get a great cardio workout that melts fat, strengthens your core, and improves flexibility! The classes are Fun and easy to follow and you will meet a great group of locals.
Lane Cove class schedule:
Mondays 9:30 am Zumba Fitness at the Lane Cove Bowling Club. 1 hour class.
Tuesdays 10 am Zumba Gold at the Living and Learning Centre. 45 mins class.
Thursdays 11:15 am Zumba Gold at the Lane Cove Bowling Club. 45 mins class.
Casual visit $12 for Zumba or $10 for Zumba Gold.
