Every year Lane Cove comes alive on the second weekend in September. The weekend is packed full of events (many of them are free). Here are some highlights.
There are other events this weekend and you can find them in our Events Calendar.
Birrahlee Kindergarten Open Day 17 Sept 10.00 to 12.00 pm
Birrahlee Kindergarten is the first place many Lane Cove Residents start their educational journey. Come along and meet the staff and help raise some funds for this much loved kindergarten.
Indian Bazaar St Ignatius Riverview 17 Sept 8.30 to 4.30 pm
The annual Indian Bazaar is on 17 September from 8.30 to 4.30 pm. It is a fun filled day of rides, attractions, white elephant stall and cakes. It is co-ordinated by an Executive Committee of NSW Jesuit Mission Friends. The main policy for the running of the Bazaar is that every stall and attraction donates 100% of its profit for the work of Jesuit Mission (except for the few stalls and attractions that are hired out for the day). The Bazaar alone consistently contributes well over $100,000 each year for vital work in the developing world. St Ignatius’ College generously hosts the event on their school grounds in Riverview (it not a fundraising event for the school).
Celebrate cycling in Lane Cove by joining Lane Cove Council’s Bicycle Advisory Committee for the 4th annual Lane Cove Big Family Fun Ride, Sunday 18th September. The ride starts at 11am, at the corner of Epping Road and Longueville Road.
Everyone is welcome, from young children on scooters and balance bikes to experienced cyclists and E-bikes. There will be three routes to accommodate varying cycling abilities, all concluding at Blackman Park.
Have fun this weekend and send us in plenty of pictures to post on our social media platforms.
