Welcome to our Lane Cove Week in Review, for 29 Aug to 4 Sep 2016.

Lane Cove Fun Run

The big event of the week was the Lane Cove Fun Run organised by the Lane Cove Public School P&C. Well done to the organising committee, it was a great day. There were 1500 participants. ITC spotted people from all over Lane Cove enjoying the event. It was a true community event and it can only get bigger and better next year.  Thank you to the residents of Longueville for their patience – we did spot quite a few Longueville residents running and enjoying the day. The race was led out by Peter Fitzsimmons. We even had elite athletes involved in the race like Beth Croft (who has just finished competing for Australia in the World Junior Athletics Championships). Thank you to Jack & Co for providing free water for the runners at the finish line.  At this stage the committee is working out the amount raised but it appears that it will be close to $20 000 and over $1000 will go to two Men’s Health Charities.

The Lane Cove Community is very generous and the Lane Cove Public School P&C would like to thank the sponsors below:

Lane Cove Bus Changes

Just a reminder that on 5 September 2016 (ie Monday) there will be major route changes to 252 and 254 (no longer stopping in CBD during peak). There will also be minor timetable changes to 251 and 253. See our blog for links to the new timetables.

Traffic Sign Changes

There have been some recent changes to traffic signs in Lane Cove, that you may not have noticed. Thank goodness our Roving Reporters have been on the ball for us!

Details of the changes are HERE.

traffic signs

Speaking of traffic, a roving reporter alerted us to some huge pot holes on Barwon Avenue Lane Cove West. During the rain this week, the roving reporter hit the potholes and their tyres were shredded.

Crime Report

This week’s North Shore LAC Crime Report:-

Stolen traffic survey counter – Lane Cove West

Police are currently investigating the theft of two traffic survey counters that were installed (11th August) by Lane Cove Council on Killara Avenue, Lane Cove West. The devices were scheduled to conduct a traffic survey on the street for a period of two weeks however a resident in the area contacted council on Friday 19th August to advise that the devices had been stolen.

Police ask that if anyone has information pertaining to the removal of these devices could they contact Chatswood Police (9414 8499).

ITC has a theory on why this survey counter may have mysteriously gone missing – you can read about it HERE.
