Protein and why we Bang on about it in the Fitness Industry

protein
Vision Personal Training Lane Cove are back as our guest bloggers to explain what’s so good about Protein and why the Fitness Industry gives protein so much “air time”.  Take it away Vision…..
Protein is one of the most important nutrients needed for the body to survive, in fact our total body weight is made up of 20% of the stuff!! Unlike Carbohydrates and fats Protein is not stored by the body, therefore, when the body is running low it turns to its own protein which is our muscle. The immune system is also at risk along with low energy and become easily fatigued.
Some of the benefits of having enough protein are;
– Reduced hunger (You are less likely to over eat on stuff you don’t need)
– Repair and growth of muscle and tissue after exercise
– Lose and help maintain a healthy weight by boosting metabolism
– Are crucial for producing enzymes, hormones and other bodily chemicals
– Major component for healthy hair, skin and nails
So as you can see from the points listed it really is important that you’re making sure your are getting all the protein that the body needs. It is definitely the star player when it comes to losing fat and gaining muscle!!!

 Meet Stephanie Taunton

Stephanie Taunton is a personal trainer at Vision in Lane Cove. My love of fitness and health started at a young age when I started dancing which I continued for 20 years. From then on I was always participating in school sports right up until I finished in 2010. It became very clear to me after I went through my own fitness journey that this was something I would love to help other people achieve, not just for a ‘looks’ perspective but a better well-being and way of life. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin and live a long and wonderful life which is what drives my passion for what I do and why I do it.

Vision Personal Training provides the comfort of knowing that you are in safe hands of a professional who can cater exercises both for weight bearing and cardiovascular to your ability, while taking into consideration your limitations and ability in completing certain exercise to help improve mobility, flexibility, strength and posture.

Having a personal trainer means you have an exercise program that is tailored that best suits your health conditions and lifestyle.  Low impact exercise along with strength training are highly recommended for anyone who wants to get physical but there is no “one size fits all” approach, so it’s best to speak to a professional before undertaking any new exercise regime.
