Lane Cove local Anthony and his partner have unique future wedding rings which match each other. They are future wedding rings as they cannot legally marry in Australia.
The future wedding rings were specially designed by Anthony’s jeweller. The rings are platinum with 12 segments each holding a zodiac birth gemstone. It took Anthony’s jeweller over 3 years to make the rings. It took months of planning and sketching for the future wedding rings to come to life.
On the day of the Lane Cove Village Fair, Anthony lost his future wedding ring in Bridge Street Lane Cove. He feared the ring has slipped off his finger and he would never see it again.
The Waterman family were walking up to the Lane Cove Village Fair and Leo (pictured below in green) found the ring, and his family handed it into ITC stand at the Lane Cove Village Fair.
ITC listed the ring on our website lost and found page, on our facebook page and in our weekly newsletter. We are usually very good at reuniting lost property.
Anthony placed a lost and found ad in the November issue of The Village Observer. The advertisement included a picture of the ring. ITC saw the picture and rang Anthony with the good news that we had his future wedding ring. Anthony was offering a reward for the return of the ring. We asked Anthony if he would make a cash donation to Delvena Women’s Refuge and he said he would be delighted to make a donation.
Leo’s Dad told us, “Leo is always finding stuff on the ground, but its normally just nuts and bolts. The future wedding ring is definitely his best find so far! Especially now we know the story behind it.”
Anthony does follow In the Cove but was not regularly checking facebook at the time. Anthony does not receive our weekly newsletter (but he is signing up for it now!!).
Thanks once again to the Waterman Family and little Leo who handed in the ring. A few years ago Leo lost his teddy bear at Marjorie York Park. One of ITC’s roving reporters found the teddy and posted a picture on the ITC Facebook page. The family saw the post and collected the teddy. They were so pleased to have Leo reunited with his teddy by bedtime. It really does show the power of a positive act of random kindness.
We are delighted that the two future wedding rings are reunited because Love is Love Is Love.
