Feedback on Other Lane Cove Parks

ITC has received feedback from local residents that parks in Lane Cove do not stack up to parks in other council areas. Hughes Park is our latest park and it has been heavily criticised for its lack of shade. It would also be great to have an enclosed area for the little kids. There should also be plenty of bubblers which allow you to fill up water bottles. The park includes outdoor table tennis tables. There are outdoor table tennis tables at Blackman Park – it would be good to know if they are used. If not the area set aside for table tennis could be converted into more play equipment. The new park seems a bit light on for play equipment.

Have Your say on the Park Name

The Lane Cove Council would also like you to propose a name for the Park. You might suggest a notable Australian who grew up in Lane Cove or an Aboriginal Name or a name inspired by local fauna. According to the Australian Aboriginal Words and Place Names by S.J. Endacott), Pinaroo means old man.

To have your say on your new park, you can make a submission to the General Manager by quoting ‘Our New Park’– SU6839’ by:-

  • Post: PO Box 20, Lane Cove 1595;
  • Fax: 9911 3600; or
  • Email

Submissions will be received by Council until Friday 27 October 2017
