Get Ready to Celebrate World Malbec Day with Artisan Malbec

Lane Cove is the home of boutique online wine club Artisan Malbec.  They are getting ready to celebrate World Malbec Day. A global initiative celebrated on April 17 each year, Malbec World Day was developed by Wines of Argentina to showcase the varietal and the Argentinean way of life through food, music and dance.

Likewise, Artisan Malbec’s aim is to introduce members to Malbec wines from around the world. The company launched in late 2016 and offers its members exclusive promotions via their website, with a special focus on Argentina – the world’s most significant Malbec producer.

The Artisan Malbec website is a rich resource for members, and includes exclusive interviews with winemakers, vintage reports, food and wine matching, recipes – indeed, everything needed to create a memorable drinking experience. Members enjoy access to some of the best varietals from around the world, and can choose from quarterly packs of premium imported Malbec hand-selected by the most knowledgeable wine critics, importers and suppliers in the industry.

Artisan Malbec creator Lane Cove local Daniela Penno is a wine industry professional with more than 15 years’ experience promoting Argentinian wines to a global audience. Her business partner Germán Fumis is a business development and project manager with a passion for Malbec.

For Daniela and Germán, the beauty of Artisan Malbec lies in catering to a niche market. They take a hands-on, personalised approach to sourcing the best expressions of wine for their customers, from the big name blockbusters of the world’s most renowned producers to small batch, harder to find boutique wines. “We understand each wine has a story. We search for those special Malbec stories that make the wine unique,” explains Daniela. “We want our customers to join us on this #malbecjourney and share in the exploration of the best Malbec collections available in the market.”

Malbec is a way of life for Daniela. Hailing from Argentina, she now heads up Latinpr! in Sydney, promoting Latin American companies and organisations in Australia, including Wines of Argentina’s World Malbec Day. Last year, Daniela received her international diploma in Malbec in Mendoza, making her a trusted specialist in the varietal.

“We have met many Malbec lovers in Australia whose passion for this varietal began after travelling to Argentina. They often share stories of when they first tried Malbec and how they fell in love with our Argentinean regions, people and wines. We love these stories and knowing that this wine has been there for our customers’ significant life’s moments, as well as for us,” says Daniela.

“Ours is not just a website for buying wine. It’s a place to learn and guide our members through the experience of this wine varietal with educational articles, tasting notes, travel ideas, interviews with experts and the best selection of Malbec wines from different regions. With its rising and well-deserved global popularity, we’re so excited to share the journey with our members through Artisan Malbec” she concludes.
