Lane Cove’s Food and Wine by the River Sunday 3 November 2019

Lane Cove’s Food and Wine by the River is on Sunday 3 November, Tambourine Bay Reserve, Riverview.  This event is getting more and more popular this year and the good news is it will be easier to park with parking at St Ignatius College Riverview.

Soak up the sunshine with friends and family while enjoying some of the Orange region’s finest cool-climate wines – many of which will be new releases.

Now in its fifith year, the family-friendly event, part of Lane Cove Council’s annual Festival by the River, takes place at Tambourine Bay Reserve, Riverview, from 11am to 5pm.

If you’ve never been to the Orange region than this is your perfect opportunity to discover a little bit more about one of regional NSW’s favourite destinations. From beautiful strolls through vineyards and picturesque countryside to adventurous hot air ballooning and mountain bike riding, or simply soaking up starry night skies, there is something for everyone, all year round.

It’s City meets Country at its best – enjoy the finest produce from the Orange region while you enjoy views of the river!

Wine By The Glass

You can sample by the glass (120ml) or half glass (60 ml) so there is plenty of opportunity to get to know the variety of unique tastes of this high altitude, cool- climate growing region.

Child and Pet Friendly

This event is child and pet-friendly – free face-painting and an animal farm display for the kids, and as long as dogs are on a leash, they can come too!

Fee Shuttle Bus

There will be a free shuttle bus running from the Lane Cove Library down to the event so you can leave the car at home.

Cargo Road Wines

James Sweetapple is the vigneron and owner of Cargo Road Wines, and he’s also President of the annual Orange F.O.O.D Week festival (Food of Orange District). Cargo Road Wines is a small vineyard with 16 hectares (ha) of established vines and is situated on the sheltered northern slopes of Orange’s Mount Canobolas, at an elevation of 860 meters. It produces white wine varieties including Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling & Gewürztraminer, and the iconic red styles of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera and Zinfandel.

Heifer Station Wines

Highland Heritage Estate

Highland Heritage Estate vineyard is situated at 900 metres on rich basalt soils. The cool temperatures during most of the growing season coupled with dry autumn conditions are ideal for grape growing as the fruit ripens slowly, intensifying the colour and flavour. See Saw Wines is family owned and operated by Justin and Pip Jarrett. Their Balmoral, Springvale / Coole Park and Annangrove Park vineyard plantings now cover 170 hectares with an average elevation of 800m across the 3 sites keeping the small yet passionate team busy all year round. One of the latest wine labels to launch from the Orange region, there are exciting times ahead for husband and wife team Justin Byrne and Meg Simpson of Strawhouse Wines. Tamburlaine Organic Wines
