Lane Cove’s Food and Wine by the River is on Sunday 4 November, Tambourine Bay Reserve, Riverview. This event is getting more and more popular this year and the good news is it will be easier to park with parking at St Ignatius College Riverview.

Now in its fourth year, the family-friendly event, part of Lane Cove Council’s annual Festival by the River, takes place at Tambourine Bay Reserve, Riverview, from 11am to 5pm.
If you’ve never been to the Orange region than this is your perfect opportunity to discover a little bit more about one of regional NSW’s favourite destinations. From beautiful strolls through vineyards and picturesque countryside to adventurous hot air ballooning and mountain bike riding, or simply soaking up starry night skies, there is something for everyone, all year round.
It’s City meets Country at its best – enjoy the finest produce from the Orange region while you enjoy views of the river!

You can sample by the glass (120ml) or half glass (60 ml) so there is plenty of opportunity to get to know the variety of unique tastes of this high altitude, cool- climate growing region. Child and Pet Friendly
This event is child and pet-friendly – free face-painting and an animal farm display for the kids, and as long as dogs are on a leash, they can come too!
Fee Shuttle Bus
There will be a free shuttle bus running from the Lane Cove Library down to the event so you can leave the car at home.
Cargo Road Wines
James Sweetapple is the vigneron and owner of Cargo Road Wines, and he’s also President of the annual Orange F.O.O.D Week festival (Food of Orange District). Cargo Road Wines is a small vineyard with 16 hectares (ha) of established vines and is situated on the sheltered northern slopes of Orange’s Mount Canobolas, at an elevation of 860 meters. It produces white wine varieties including Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling & Gewürztraminer, and the iconic red styles of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera and Zinfandel.
Heifer Station Wines
One of the region’s popular cellar doors to open in Orange, Heifer Station has a philosophy of letting the fruit do the talking and is already winning awards. Highland Heritage Estate
Highland Heritage Estate vineyard is situated at 900 metres on rich basalt soils. The cool temperatures during most of the growing season coupled with dry autumn conditions are ideal for grape growing as the fruit ripens slowly, intensifying the colour and flavour. Located on 125 hectares on the Central Tablelands of New South Wales at Orange, 3kms east of the city, Highland Heritage Estate is currently planted to 40 acres of grapes consisting of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Riesling, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Tamburlaine Organic Wines
Australia’s largest producer of organic wines, quality in every drop. The winery was established in 1966 in the renowned Pokolbin district of the Hunter Valley. In 1995, Tamburlaine expanded its production and quality base through the acquisition of prime vineyard land in the emerging cool climate Orange wine region. Recently awarded 7 x Gold Medal wine at the 2018 NSW Wine Awards this will be a must visit tasting.

Produced from a boutique vineyard located half way between Orange and Parkes this label is serving up bright and vibrant cool climate wines produced by two bright and vibrant ladies.
Pioneer Brewing Co
One of the region’s newest assets is Pioneer Brewing Co producing a range of ales and lagers with hops grown on the farm that it is brewed.
