In the second half of the year, Lane Cove has some brilliant events. Get your diary out now and save the dates. You will not want to miss these events.
Lane Cove Festival – September 2019
The Lane Cove Festival (used to be called the Cameraygal Festival) has a month long programme of events. The Festival is filled with events that celebrate Lane Cove’s history, landscape, lifestyle and community. There is something for everyone during the festival: live music, workshops, film screenings, exhibitions, talks, walks, gatherings, sporting activities and more. Check out the events here.
Lane Cove Coffee Carnevale – 7th September 2019
A blend (pardon the pun) of coffee and culture, this event is high-energy and highly enticing to anyone passing by the Plaza on Saturday 1st September. The day is all about sharing the work of local cafés with the wider community and encouraging them to shop locally.
With the Lane Cove Plaza abuzz with free entertainment and activities from 9:00am – 2:00pm, there will be something to see and do no matter what time you stop by. Take time to linger longer after your morning errands, sample a new brew, be in-the-know about the latest coffee trends, take part in demonstrations and workshops or be wildly entertained by a variety of family-friendly performances throughout the day. It is also a celebration of our love for chai and tea.
Bring your own reusable cup or pick up a reusable Ruzi cup available at each café on the day. Enjoy your coffee and simply return the Ruzi cup to one of the specially marked bins provided.
Lane Cove Fun Run – 8th September 2019
The Lane Cove Fun Run is organised by Lane Cove Public School P&C. The inaugural event was held in 2016 and it was such a success it is now an annual event. In fact, the event was so successful journalist and noted author Peter FitzSimmons wrote an article about the Lane Cove Fun Run in the Sydney Morning Herald. Peter wants other suburbs to get out there and do the same.
The Lane Cove Fun Run is 100% organised by volunteers and its sponsors are all local businesses who believe in the importance of giving back to their local community. It is fun for serious runners (5km) and fun for the family (2km and Fancy Dress is the way to go). Find out more here – Registrations close on 4th September 2019
Indian Bazaar – 14th September 2019
More than 8,000 people of all ages will flock to the event for a day of activities, bargains, rides, music, shows, raffles, prizes, food, spruiking and all out fun.
Now in its 68th year, all funds raised from the annual event go to support the Jesuit Mission’s community development work in over ten countries across Asia and Africa.
