The headmaster of Shore School, Timothy Wright, confirmed there had been an incident involving secondary school students returning from rowing training.

“The school has been very concerned,” Dr Wright said. “It has been referred to the NSW police and we have of course pastorally followed up the students involved.”

He said the students involved “are well, but we are monitoring that in consultation with their families”.
