Lane Cove’s Local News and Media In the Cove Eight Years Young

Wow, eight years young and still bringing you local news and as it happens!

First Post 1st November 2012

Who knew that 8 years ago our humble first post on the first day of November 2012 would transform the way Lane Cove’s 40,000 residents received their news, information, laughs, tips and updates. Today because of you; little In the Cove is a local news and media platform with a huge social ethos and community focus.
Our first post

Our Most Memorable Local Lane Cove News and Media Articles

An ITC follower asked the other day ‘what are you most memorable stories you’ve covered?’.
They are all important but here are a few highlights from over the years.

Boomgate Gate
Do we need to say more? – At one stage ITC was out directing traffic while hundreds of cars remained trapped in the car park.  This also resulted in Lane Cove Council reviewing its emergency call-out procedures.
Lane Cove Council Communication and Engagement
Lobbying Lane Cove Council on numerous other issues – and in particular better engagement and communication with the public.  This has resulted in Lane Cove Council launching a Facebook page and also working on systems to assist with better customer service.  A big shout out to Councillors Andrew Zbik and Daniel Strassberg who have taken on board ITC member’s comments and worked tirelessly to put in place communication policies.
Better Public Transport

Lobbying (pre COVID19 ) for better public transport.  Do you remember the time ITC asked our local member Anthony Roberts and representatives of Transport for NSW to actually get on a bus at peak hour and see the problems first hand?  ITC even met with the Minister for Transports staff at Parliament House to plead the case for more buses.  Read more here.

Road and Intersection Upgrades

Lobbying for upgrades to the Diddy Intersection, Burns Bay Road and Mowbray Road particularly around slippery bends and accident hot spots.  Read more here.

Breaking Lane Cove Local News

You help us often break local news stories before the mainstream media. But what’s important is you get to hear it first AND our sources are extremely accurate.  Just this month we have had three big local stories that were either not published by mainstream media or picked up after we published the story.
