Lane Cove COVID19 Testing Facilities Information

COVID-19 testing is important. Testing allows NSW Health to prevent onward transmission by helping them identify as many cases in the community as quickly as possible. Every person who comes forward for testing is playing an important role in helping to contain the spread of COVID-19.

On Lane Cove Chat by ITC we asked Lane Cove locals to tell us the following:

  • Where Did You Go to be tested for COVID-19?
  • When Did You Take the Test?
  • Did You Need A Referral?
  • How Long Did it Take for Test Results to come back?
  • Best place to take kids?
  • Best place to take seniors?

We asked for this information in November 2020 and again in May 2021.  PLEASE NOTE THAT AS OF 23 JULY 2021 ITC MEMBERS ARE SAYING THE QUICKEST TURN AROUND TIME IS AT 4Cyte Pathology North Ryde Covid 19 Collections – DETAILS BELOW.

4Cyte Pathology is open until 8pm at night.  On 22nd July 2021 an ITC follower went to 4Cyte at 8pm and it took five minutes to get the test and also the results were back by 8 am the next morning.

Testing Facility With Quickest Turn Around Times (as of July 2021)

From the information provided by our Lane Cove Chat by ITC Members ( as of July 2021) the following three testing facilities have the faster turnaround time:

  • 4Cyte Pathology North Ryde Covid 19 Collections (around 9 hours)
  • Laverty Pathology Drive Through North Ryde (was very slow but seems to be around 9 hours now)
  • Northshore Roseville Respiratory Clinic

Further details and contact information is listed below.

Testing Facility Best for Young Children under 5

Not many kids under 5 are going to hold their head still and keep their hands away from their face when they see a swab going toward them. If you are able to have an adult sit beside them in the back car you will probably be ok at a drive through option. If not, we recommend going some place where you can have them sit on your lap like:

  • Northshore Roseville Respiratory Clinic
  • Wise Respiratory Clinic

If you child is sick you will most likely be turned away from seeing a GP until you have a negative test. As parents, we usually know when its bad enough and needing antibiotics or even steroids for croup. If you are worried or you need treatment now, Ryde Respiratory will give you a consultation and do a test at the same time. This will help stream line medications or even having your child accessed. If it is an emergency, head to RNSH
