An exciting opportunity has become available for a Practice Coordinator to join our rapidly growing allied health team in Lane Cove. We are seeking someone who is well organised with great communication and interpersonal skills. About us

Sydney Speech Clinic is an independently run Speech Pathology Clinic based in the heart of Lane Cove, Sydney. We pride ourselves on providing expert clinical care for our clients and their families and from 2019 we will be operating out of our brand new purpose built clinic.

About the Role

Due to the rapid expansion of our service and the acquisition of our brand new clinic space, a unique opportunity now exists for an experienced Practice Coordinator to join our growing team. Initially, you will be closely supported by both the IT/Business Manager and the Clinical Director to use our administrative systems with the aim of ensuring the whole team can operate in a coordinated and professional manner. You will also be responsible for making sure our new clinical environment is the welcoming space we want for our clients.

We are a friendly team committed to high quality client care, already working with modern (almost paperless!) office systems. Our new accommodation is conveniently located close to public transport, parking and shops. The job would suit an experienced Practice Coordinator looking for a new challenge in a growing practice, or a quick learner looking to move into this kind of working environment.

Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility include:

Meeting and greeting clients
Answering the phone and responding to emails
Booking appointments and managing multiple diaries
Payment Handling
Assistance with client resource preparation
Management of client databases and files
Providing general assistance and support to the therapy team
Maintaining clinic supplies and overseeing day to day organisation of the clinic space
Assist with updating website content, uploading new products, newsletters and blogs

Essential Experience and Personal Attributes

Excellent organisational and time management skills
Genuine empathy and interest in clients’ needs
Ability to prioritise and organise, with attention to detail
First class interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Well-presented, friendly, courteous and obliging
Full awareness of the need to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information
Natural ability to interact with children of various ages and adults with speech and language difficulties
Able to remain calm under pressure
A commitment to accuracy, being prepared to check documents as necessary
Ability to work both cooperatively and independently
Excellent IT skills – Windows 10, MS Word/ Excel, Google Suite

Desirable Skills and Experience

An understanding of Speech Pathology/Occupational Therapy services
Working knowledge of Practice Management Software, Tyro/HiCaps and Medicare claiming systems
Experience with:
Disability services (children/adults)
Social media for business and websites
Marketing/design/advertising skills
Customer relations and customer service
General small business admin
Managing schedules for multiple clinicians
Front line customer service

The post might suit either one full time or two job-share applicants. The possibility of a term time position could be discussed.

Remuneration will be reflective of experience.

The position is due to start in late January/early Feb 2019
