Manager, Client Independence

Sydney Community Services (SCS) is dedicated to a strong community presence and is committed to supporting people to live full and independent lives, engaging communities, supporting volunteering and delivering care and support at the times when people need it most.
Reporting to the CEO the Manager, Client Independence is one of three senior Managers in the organisation.
The Role
As the Manager, Client Independence, you will be responsible for a multidisciplinary team providing support in accordance with the Aged Care and National Disability Standards and other relevant legislation; and to promote capacity building support to clients and participants to increase their independence, social inclusion, recreation skills and economic participation.
You will also be also responsible for program sustainability and responding to changing community needs and Government requirements that supports personalised inclusive and independent living within the community supported through either CHSP or Aged Care Home Package Funding.
Programs managed by the Manager, Client Independence include Home Care Packages, Home Nursing, Home Maintenance and Modifications, Meals on Wheels, Gardening, Podiatry, Linen, Domestic Assistance and other future Client Independence Programs.

Skills Required

Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in the community sector, preferably in the Aged Care and/or Disability space
A high level of knowledge of the principles, practices and goals of the delivery of Aged Care and Disability services and supports including CHSP, NDIA, NDIS, policy protocols, accreditation, legislation and change management principles.
Understanding and experience of managing Aged Care Home Care Packages
Strong team management, financial management, leadership, workforce planning and development skills together with well-developed interpersonal, communication, problem solving, decision making and customer service skills.
