4A Kids: Clay Flowers with Ruth Ju-shih Li

Shape, sculpt and carve raw ceramics with Taiwanese-Australian artist Ruth Ju-shih Li at Gallery Lane Cove on Saturday, 30 April from 10 am until midday. The morning will respond to her work in the exhibition Drawn by stones, as well as the natural environment. Transform into a young ceramicist and explore natural beauty with Ruth!
Suitable for children aged 5+. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Snacks will be provided to the kids on arrival. Please let us know if your child has any allergies in your booking registration.
Drawn by stones is a touring project initiated and presented by 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art. The exhibition and associated programming are supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW, with development support for this exhibition provided by the Ministry of Culture Taiwan and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Sydney, and The Gordon Darling Foundation.

Ruth Ju-shih Li is a ceramic artist currently working between Australia, China and Taiwan. She explores different ways of narrating both traditional and multicultural concepts of beauty, transcendence and the sublime. Li draws from her diverse philosophical and cultural heritage, and from the language of dreams, myths and utopias. Li has exhibited in Sydney, Taiwan, China, Korea, and Thailand. Ruth is represented by May Space, Sydney.

All participants over the age of 16 in the workshops must have received 2 doses of an authorised COVID-19 vaccine. Parents and guardians accompanying children are encouraged to wear a face mask. Please bring your own mask, otherwise we will supply you with a mask upon entry.
