‘At the Podium’ with Ian Burnet: Topic – The Remarkable life of Joseph Conrad

Ian Burnet is the author of five books related to Maritime History and the Indonesian Archipelago. In this talk he will discuss the remarkable life of Joseph Conrad, sailor and distinguished novelist, who wandered extensively through the “mysterious East” visiting such places as Singapore and Borneo, often writing about the people and places he visited. Ian will give an account of Conrad’s life, while also expanding on some of the stories Conrad told, and focusing on the back-stories of some of his characters.
