DESCRIPTION:Someone from my past\, Wendy Sharpe\, Monotype Triptych\, 120 x 90 cm (Each panel)Photo John Fotiadis\nGallery Lane Cove presents Dream and Reason: Paradoxes of the Sublime\, a contemporary printmaking exhibition running from 18 August to 11 September. The show explores the Romantic idea of the sublime\, that unsettling mix of awe and fear found in nature’s vast\, overwhelming forces\, and examines where human reason meets the limits of what it can comprehend.\nArchibald and Sulman Prize winner Wendy Sharpe AM headlines with large-scale gestural monotypes in Gallery 1\, evoking the unease of 1950s film noir. Galleries 2 and 3 bring together five contemporary printmakers: Andrew Totman\, Juanita McLauchlan\, Salvatore Gerardi\, Annika Romeyn and Bridget Hillebrand\, each responding to nature\, ecology and the passage of time through the printmaking medium.\nThe exhibition also marks 60 years of the Australian Print Council and 65 years of the Sydney Printmakers. Entry is free.

DESCRIPTION:Shanon Bradburn\, Dawn on the Murray River\, 2026\nSymphony of Hues\, a new suite of sweeping landscape paintings by artist Shanon Bradburn\, is on show at Art Space Gallery\, The Concourse\, Chatswood\, from 19 to 30 August. Rather than depicting exact locations\, Bradburn captures the emotional imprint left by the Australian landscape\, inviting viewers to connect with its atmosphere and enduring presence.\nLost keys\, frayed curtains and everyday objects surface throughout the body of work\, with hues ranging from pallid to vivid brushed and stained across the canvas. Bradburn has previously exhibited locally at Gallery NWC in St Leonards.\nFree entry. An artist talk and exhibition tour with Bradburn runs on Saturday 29 August.
