DESCRIPTION:The Diddy goes all in on Oktoberfest this year\, taking over the grounds of Longueville Sporting Club from midday on Saturday 3 October. Ten independent Australian brewers each get their own tent\, pouring beers from names including Young Henrys\, Mountain Culture\, Philter and BentSpoke.\n\nThree live bands play throughout the day\, backed by DJs between sets\, alongside traditional bratwursts and the club’s usual kitchen menu. SUMMARY:A Picnic at Balls Head: Celebrating 100 Years
DESCRIPTION:North Sydney Council is inviting the community to a free day of picnics\, bush walks\, live music and family fun on Saturday 24 October\, marking 100 years since Balls Head and Berry Island were reserved for public recreation. The celebration takes in Balls Head Reserve and The Coal Loader in Waverton and honours the community members who campaigned to protect the harbour foreshore. \nThe program includes live and roving music\, storytelling\, Indigenous face painting\, an art exhibition\, guided walks and hands-on activities. The first 100 guests from 11:00am receive a free picnic lunchbox\, and an Engineering Heritage Marker recognising the Coal Loader’s national significance will be unveiled. \nThe main celebration runs from 11:00am to 4:00pm\, with morning tours and pre-booked activities from 7:30am. A free shuttle bus runs from Waverton between 7:15am and 4:00pm\, as parking is limited. A Diya Lighting follows at The Canopy around sunset on Sunday 8 November\, when the community will light 100 tea lights to mark the spirit of Diwali.
