Concert celebrating Lane Cove Music’s 80th birthday!

Pianist Simon Tedeschi, one of Australia’s best-loved classical musicians, with a long-harboured love of jazz,  on this occasion is teaming up with jazz vocalist and violinist George Washingmachine for something a little different – Gershwin, Cole Porter, Fats Waller and more.

Concerts Coming Up this Year

13 May 2025 Magic Flutes, Electric Harp Blues & The Silver Screen Two Australian flute and harp superstars in an enchanting concert that transports you to an atmosphere of glittering dreams and angelic realms. Jane Rutter plays her gold & silver flutes and Celtic whistles. Louise Johnson plays classical gold and electric blue harps. The renowned duo pay tribute to Jazz harp legends Dorothy Ashby, Mimi Allen, Robert Maxwell and Harpo Marx. With evocative music from the silver screen, the duo showcase works by Richard Strauss, Mozart, Bizet, Chopin, Liszt, Brubeck, Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Khachaturian and Scott Joplin.

 

17 Jun 2025 Acacia Quartet present Precious Colours Acacia Quartet in their 15th anniversary year are proud to present a program of string quartets, featuring three of their favourite Australian composers, Alice Chance, Elena KatsChernin and Lyle Chan with two of their favourite classical composers, Joseph Haydn and Antonin Dvorak. Be treated to wonderful melodies and tunes throughout the whole program! Acacia Quartet features Lisa Stewart (V1), Doreen Cumming (V2), Stefan Duwe (Viola) and Anna Martin-Scrase (Cello).

 

12 Aug 2025 Windfall Quintet Windfall Quintet is looking forward to a return performance of delightful woodwind music. The program will feature a range of beautiful repertoire including dance inspired works by Beethoven, De Falla, Khachaturian and Chabrier. Come along and hear some well-known favourites and other gems. Windfall Quartet features Jocelyn Fazzone (Flute), Teléna Routh (Oboe), Carol Coomber (Clarinet) Jennifer Yeh (Bassoon), Graham Nichols (French Horn) 14 Oct 2025 Pollard Memorial Instrumental Awards for Performance Excellence 10 of the most outstanding solo instrumentalists between the ages of 12 and 15 years will be selected from the 2025 Sydney Eisteddfod for these awards.

 

25 Nov 2025 Macquarie University Singers present Pulse Pulse, a dynamic choral performance that brings together vibrant, rhythm-driven music with a strong pulse. This concert will feature dance-inspired compositions and diverse sounds from across the globe, including arrangements of Indian classical music. With a broad stylistic range, Pulse will journey from classical to folk to contemporary music, offering an uplifting experience. Interwoven with some more reflective work, the concert will ring with lively energy.
