You may have seen an article on In the Cove in late June 2025, where we reported that students at Currambena Primary School & Preschool created an illuminated giant Loch Ness monster and floated it along Tambourine Bay. This giant Monster is making a comeback for the festival. If you didn’t see it last time, make sure you do this time.
It took three weeks to create the Monster, with students designing, constructing, painting, and assembling their lantern sculptures using cane, paper, and candlelight.
On Friday, 14 November 2025, 6 .00 pm to 8.30 pm, the illuminated Monster will be floated up the River.
Picnics, kayaking, and cycling are encouraged.
Lane Cove Council will provide picnic rugs, lights, and music.
