Minimal Impact Training Walk in English and Mandarin

A great opportunity for those who love nature and want to continue to enjoy it in less harmful ways!

Minimal Impact Bushwalking helps to preserve nature and biosecurity in our pristine Australian habitats.

This one-day training course will help you to ‘walk softly’ and leave a minimal impact as well as know the best safety preparations to make before you head out.

Join Yidan and David for their Lane Cove National Park walk alongside the river. Yidan and David will lead the walk in English and Mandarin!

Starting at Koonjerie Picnic Area and following the river to Macquarie Centre.
Beautiful walk along side the river! Learn about minimal impact bushwalking tips and tricks as we walk along the track.

Note: this is a beginners introduction to Minimal Impact Bushwalking

What to bring:
Wear shoes with grippy soles so you can cross the creek on rocks. Bring a walking stick if you like help in balancing.
Water, lunch and snacks
Hats and clothes, or sunscreen, to protect yourself from the sun and rain
A rubbish bag so we can remove any rubbish we find during the walk

Minors must be accompanied by an adult

FAQs
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Transport to the starting area can either be via bus or private transport:
If driving, there are a few paid parks in the picnic area.
To come by public transport, take the 545 bus:
If coming from Macquarie Centre, go to stand B and catch the 09:03 bus, which will arrive at the start point at 09:21.
If coming from Chatswood, go to stand G on the Pacific Highway side of the station and catch the the 09:12 bus, which will arrive at the start point at 09:17.
The walk will end at Macquarie Centre where everyone can catch the 545 bus back to the starting point or Chatswood Station.
