Seniors Reconnect – Sustainability for Seniors + Falls Prevention

Lane Cove Council is delighted to announce the return of the Reconnect Program this October, in support of Mental Health Month. This 5-week initiative will focus on supporting the health, wellbeing, and connection of seniors in our community.
Week 4 – Session 1 (9:30am – 10:30am) : Sustainability for Seniors: Get prepared and informed
Join the Council Sustainability Team to learn the basics of sustainability and climate change. We will discuss climate change, how to prepare for extreme weather events, and ways to help mitigate climate impacts. You’ll also learn practical actions to make better environmental decisions and save money.
All participants will receive resources to help prepare for disasters and better understand sustainability in Lane Cove.

Week 4 – Session 2 (10:45am – 11:45am) : Falls Prevention – Spring into Action
Spring is the perfect season to get moving and stay active! Join us as we’ Spring into Action’—a special session designed to help reduce the risk of falls and support your overall health and wellbeing.
Learn practical tips for preventing falls and discover simple ways to stay active and independent. This session is proudly supported by the NSLHD Population Health Promotion team in partnership with the Health Promotion Service for Older People (HPSOP).
