Turning The Ship – Film Screening

16 October 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Rising Tide for a special screening of their new film, Turning the Ship. This event is supported by Lane Cove Council.

Rising Tide is a national, grassroots movement powered by everyday people passionate about protecting the future.

Turning the Ship tells the story of Rising Tide and the extraordinary 2024 People’s Blockade of the World’s Largest Coal Port at Newcastle, attended by over 7,000 people from across Australia.

After the film, hear from volunteers about their experience at the People’s Blockade last year and share some snacks. Learn more about the proposed 2025 Blockade this November as Rising Tide builds its movement to fight the escalating climate crisis.

Timing – Doors open 6:30pm, guests to be seated by 6:55pm sharp.

Admission – Cash or card donations welcome on the night to help cover costs.

Accessibility – The site is wheelchair-accessible with ramps, lifts and accessible toilets.

Transport – We highly recommend using active transport (buses, bikes, walking) or carpooling to get to this event.

The Lane Cove Bus interchange is a 3 minute walk away. Undercover parking is available on site (entry via Little St, 3 hours free parking).
