Maggie Joel is the author of four novels including the award-winning, The Second-Last Woman in England, winner of the 2011 Fellowship of Australian Writers’ Christina Stead Award for Fiction, and its follow-up, Half the World in Winter. Her novels have been published worldwide and have been described as ‘mesmerising’. Maggie joins us to talk about her most recent book, The Safest Place in London and to discuss the perils and joys of writing historical fiction.
