Over a writing career of forty years, Nadia Wheatley has published award-winning works of fiction, history and biography ranging from the classic picture book My Place, to The Life and Myth of Charmian Clift. Her latest book, Her Mother’s Daughter, is not only a loving tribute but also a social history of twentieth century Australia, told through the lives of a mother and her daughter. In this session, Nadia will show photographs and memorabilia from her mother’s life and will use the memoir as a way of discussing how we can value the lives of so-called ‘ordinary women’.
