This event is supported by Lane Cove Council. \nRising Tide is a national\, grassroots movement powered by everyday people passionate about protecting the future. \nTurning the Ship tells the story of Rising Tide and the extraordinary 2024 People’s Blockade of the World’s Largest Coal Port at Newcastle\, attended by over 7\,000 people from across Australia. \nAfter the film\, hear from volunteers about their experience at the People’s Blockade last year and share some snacks. Learn more about the proposed 2025 Blockade this November as Rising Tide builds its movement to fight the escalating climate crisis. \nTiming – Doors open 6:30pm\, guests to be seated by 6:55pm sharp. \nAdmission – Cash or card donations welcome on the night to help cover costs. \nAccessibility – The site is wheelchair-accessible with ramps\, lifts and accessible toilets. \nTransport – We highly recommend using active transport (buses\, bikes\, walking) or carpooling to get to this event. \nThe Lane Cove Bus interchange is a 3 minute walk away. Don’t miss out!\n\n\nLane Cove Council and Hearing Australia invite you to come along to the Hear Well\, Stay Well – Hearing Health Information Session\, with a free hearing test provided. \nHearing Australia\, as a government-funded hearing provider\, supports better hearing for all Australians. Currently\, 1 in 7 Australians has some form of hearing loss. \nThe physical and psychological effects of hearing loss are well established and can be debilitating—but the earlier hearing loss is diagnosed\, the more effective the intervention can be. \nAt the session\, Hearing Australia will cover key aspects of hearing and hearing loss—including tinnitus and the links between diabetes\, cardiovascular health\, dementia\, and hearing loss. \nThey will also demonstrate the advanced technology of hearing aids and listening devices\, and how these can significantly improve quality of life. \nA free hearing check will be offered on the day.
