DESCRIPTION:Lane Cove Local Lianne has organised a Girls’ Night Out to raise funds for the Cancer Council. It will be held at Pier One\, Sydney on February 28th 7-10 pm. \nTickets are $95 and include canapés and the first 30 minutes of drinks free (thereafter it converts to a cash bar). I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 43\, when my children were just 3 and 1 years old. My treatment involved surgery\, radiation\, and a gruelling year of chemotherapy. While that chapter was incredibly challenging\, it didn’t end there — routine follow-up scans one year later detected a rare cancer of the appendix\, which led to the removal of half my bowel. \nThanks to advances in cancer research\, improved detection\, and modern treatments\, my story has a hopeful outcome. Twenty years ago\, my cancers would likely have been a death sentence. Today\, I have a 90% survival rate over five years\, and I’m still here — raising my children and living a full life.
