The Lane Cove Fun Run will be held on Father’s Day this year. Fun for the whole family. What a great way to celebrate Father’s Day. The event is being organised by Lane Cove Public School P&C. It is hoped that this event will become an annual event. So let’s fill you in on all the details.

When
Sunday 4th September. You can choose to enter either the 2km LONGueville Dash (8:30am) or the 5km event (7:30am). The organisers are encouraging all participants to enter into the FUN of the event, dress up, get your kids to dress up and dress up those strollers!
What is the Route for the Lane Cove Run
The run will take you through scenic Longueville and the roads will be closed.
Road Closures
William Edward St – Between Stuart St and Mary St. Re-opened by 8:30am. Please note that access to Stuart St and Mary St west of William Edward St is to be maintained at all times and will be supervised by authorised traffic controllers.
Woodford St – Between Kenneth St and Arabella St. Re-opened by 9:00am. Please note that one way eastbound lane is to remain in operation at all times and will be supervised by authorised traffic controllers.
Arabella St – South of Woodford St. Re-opened by 9:15am. Please note that access to Woodford St. west of Arabella St. is to be maintained at all times and will be supervised by authorised traffic controllers.
Kenneth St – South of Woodford St. Re-opened north of Dunois Street by 9:00am. Re-opened between Stuart Street and Dunois Street by 10:00am.
Molesworth Ln – East of Kenneth St. Re-opened by 9:00am.
Christina St – East of Kenneth St. Re-opened by 9:00am.
Ann St – East of Kenneth St. Re-opened by 9:00am
Francis St – East of Kenneth St. Re-opened by 9:15am
Cowper St – East of Kenneth St. Re-opened by 9:15am
Dunois St – East of Kenneth St. This includes Dunois St with access via Wilson Ln. Re-opened by 9:15am
Arundel St – Re-opened to north bound traffic by 9:00am. Re-opened onto Stuart street by 9:30am.

How Do I Register?

The event is run by the Lane Cove Public School P&C. However to encourage all local schools to take part in the race there will be an inter school challenge.
All primary school students run to give their school the chance of winning the Lane Cove Fun Run Plate. The Plate will be awarded to the top primary school overall. Times will be taken for the first 4 runners from each school in both the 2km and 5km event.
There is also a prize of $1000 worth of sporting equipment. For every student that is entered into the event their school is given a ticket in the prize draw.
Students must enter their school name when registering to be eligible for the Lane Cove Fun Run Plate and the prize draw.
What happens after I finish the run?
During and after the run breakfast will be held on the Kingsford Smith Oval. You will have a choice of:
- Bacon and Egg Rolls
- Sausage sizzle
- Fresh juices
- Coffee
- Freshly baked bread and pastries
- Fresh fruit and healthy breakfast treats.
