Lane Cove (2066)


The Canopy Playground

One of the most popular playgrounds on Sydney’s North Shore, located at the heart of The Canopy retail and community precinct on Rosenthal Avenue. The playground is large, well-equipped and genuinely challenging for children of all ages. Highlights include vertical climbing nets, a fire pole, a sagging bridge, trampolines, junior and spiral slides, two levels of play decks, water play, a large sandpit and a colourful climbing wall. The precinct also has a concert stage, green space, adult change facility, parents’ room and 500 car spaces.

Best Street Reserve

A fully fenced neighbourhood playground with a nature play area and picnic settings. A solid choice for younger children.

Lane Cove North (2066)


Mindarie Park

Opened in 2019, Mindarie Park is a fully fenced, all-abilities playground on the corner of Mindarie Street and Kullah Parade in Lane Cove North. It’s a standout for accessibility — wide ramps, inclusive equipment and a dedicated scooter and bike loop running around the entire perimeter. Inside the fenced area you’ll find combination swings, climbing structures, spinners, nature play elements and a great slide. Picnic shelters, shaded seating, a BBQ area and unisex accessible toilets with a baby change table are all on site. A favourite with toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.

Tantallon Oval Playground

A local playground set beside the large Tantallon Oval sports field in Lane Cove North. Good for toddlers and younger primary-aged children. Easy parking along Tantallon Road and good visibility across the reserve.

Lane Cove West (2066)


Blackman Park

A large, well-loved park on Lloyd Rees Drive (off Wood Street) in Lane Cove West, sitting beside the Lane Cove River. One of the biggest parks in the area, with something for everyone — sporting grounds, off-leash dog areas, a skate park with ramps and rails, tennis courts, picnic areas with wood BBQs and a river foreshore bushwalk. Ample parking for up to 80 cars.

Cullen Street Playground

A fully fenced playground close to the Figtree shops in Lane Cove West. Good swings for all ages, slides, climbing equipment and picnic tables. A popular local favourite.

Henley Playground

Located across the road from Lane Cove West Public School, this is a large unfenced playground with plenty to offer, especially for older kids. Has picnic tables and a bubbler.

Longueville (2066)


Aquatic Park

A neighbourhood foreshore park on Mary Street with beautiful water views and a relaxed atmosphere. Home to the North Shore Rowing Club and the Lane Cove 12 Foot Sailing Skiff Club, with Yacht Bay boat lockers on site. Wood BBQs (some wood provided but take your own to be safe), children’s play equipment, toilets and some on-site parking.

Central Park, Longueville

A small, relaxing green space located between The Diddy pub and the Longueville Tennis Club on Kenneth Street. More of a passive park than a playground — a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the neighbourhood. Also features a rose garden and tennis practice wall.

Longueville Park (Longueville Reserve)

A waterfront park accessed from Stuart Street, Longueville, adjacent to Aquatic Park. A gently sloping grassed area with large trees overlooking the Lane Cove River — a painter’s paradise with fabulous water views to the city. A peaceful spot for a picnic or a quiet walk.

Griffith Park

A foreshore reserve in Longueville with swings and access to the water. A quiet local spot with baths and foreshore walking access.

Amalfi Park

A quiet riverside reserve on Belcote Road in Longueville with a picnic setting. A peaceful spot for a waterside picnic.

Riverview (2066)


Burns Bay Reserve

A spacious, flat, grassed waterfront park on Kooyong Road in Riverview. A great all-round park with a large open area suitable for ball sports and a tennis practice wall. Soccer is played here in winter.

Marjorie York Park

A fenced park next to York’s Corner shops in Riverview, shaded and well-loved by local families. Features a very popular old Steamroller to climb on — a neighbourhood icon. Coffee, food and toilets available at the neighbouring shops.

Tambourine Bay Park

A quiet foreshore park at the southern end of Tambourine Bay Road and Kalloroo Road in Riverview. A gently sloping grassed area on the edge of Tambourine Bay — a peaceful spot for a picnic or a waterside walk.

Northwood (2066)


Lloyd Rees Park

A local park on Northwood Road in Northwood, named after the celebrated Australian artist who lived in the area. Enjoys Lane Cove River views and has swings and public wharf access — handy for catching the ferry.

Greenwich (2065)


Bob Campbell Oval / Gore Creek Reserve

A popular foreshore reserve tucked into a pocket of bushland in Greenwich, accessed from St Vincents Road. The oval serves as both a soccer and cricket ground for the Greenwich Sports Club. The reserve connects to the Gore Creek and Lane Cove Bushland Park walking track, which passes Lilly Pilly Falls and runs under River Road.

Greenwich Point Reserve

A foreshore reserve at the tip of the Greenwich peninsula with excellent harbour views. Access to the O’Connell Street foreshore, playground and sea baths (Greenwich Baths). A peaceful spot popular with locals for walks and picnics.

Manns Point Park

A small foreshore park and lookout at the tip of the Greenwich peninsula, with sweeping views across to the city skyline and Parramatta River. A great spot for a quiet walk or picnic with a view.

Shell Park

A popular foreshore reserve on Greenwich Road, Shell Park is a favourite with locals for fishing, swimming and boating. Also a designated off-leash dog area.

St Leonards (2065)


Wadanggari Park

Australia’s first park built over a railway line, Wadanggari Park opened in 2023 directly above the North Shore rail corridor on the Pacific Highway. Designed by Arcadia Landscape Architecture in collaboration with Cammeraygal Elder Uncle Dennis Foley, the park’s name means “Banksia” in the local Cammeraygal language, and its design reflects the life stages of the Banksia flower. Winner of the 2024 Park of the Year in the Parks & Leisure Regional Awards of Excellence. The playground caters to all ages — infant pods and mini slides for babies and toddlers, pod climbers for pre-schoolers, and net towers for primary-age children. Connects directly to St Leonards Library, station, and the retail precinct via a refurbished underpass.

Newlands Park

A large, shady grassy reserve a short walk from St Leonards station, located at the corner of Canberra Avenue and Duntroon Avenue. Named after a local councillor from the 1920s who contributed funds to its establishment. The playground has two separate play areas — one for toddlers and one for older children — with swings, climbing equipment and open lawn for running around. A popular off-leash dog area too.

Linley Point (2066)


Linley Point Reserve

A peaceful waterfront reserve at the tip of the Linley Point peninsula, with water views and bushland walking tracks. A lovely spot for a quiet walk or to enjoy the harbour scenery.
