Lane Cove Local Identity – Tatiana from Evolvere

ITC loves to chat with Lane Cove residents and Lane Cove business owners and Tatiana from Evolvere is both. We sat down with Tatiana to find out more about Evolvere.

What is Evolvere?

Evolvere is located above Via Napoli at 2 Austin Street Lane Cove. Evolvere offers high quality student focused pilates, yoga and barre classes for both men and women. For pre and post natal students, they offer specialized classes for women to nurture, strengthen and evolve throughout this time in their lives. They also offer classes for babies, children, teens and families to enjoy together.

What is Evolvere’s philosophy?

Evolving means ‘to develop gradually’. We believe in rituals that nurture the body – from the oxygen you breathe in to the energy you give out – so you evolve in a positive, gradual way. Our classes aren’t prescriptive. We evolve them with our clients, so they gain the best results without the risk of injury.

What type of classes do you offer?

You can enjoy a range of yoga, barre and pilates mat for all ages as well as a high energy power circuit for your cardio. We have had an enormous response to our unique pregnancy yoga, barre and pilates mat classes, specially designed for women embarking on their pregnancy journey.

We also run a series of birth preparation workshops throughout the year to ensure mums to be/couples stay informed, empowered and confident to welcome their new arrival. Then, after the big day, we offer a sensational series of post pregnancy and ‘mums & bubs’ yoga, barre and pilates to realign the body! These classes give tired mums an enjoyable me-time ritual to get fit while meeting and sharing stories with other mums.

What are your most popular classes?

We have almost as many couples as singles, and the men particularly love the pilates mat, early morning yoga and our Sunday evening restorative yoga classes. We have specialist yoga, barre and pilates for pregnancy and then the mums come back and introduce us to their bubs for the post-pregnancy sessions.

We also have family yoga, which is fantastic as it brings the household together. Many empty nesters use newfound freedom and time to look after themselves (they love our barre classes!), and seniors join us to keep their bodies moving and healthy.

What do you like about living in Lane Cove?

My husband and I moved to Australia in 2008, and fell in love with Lane Cove and most importantly, our Evolvere family! It has to be one of the most family-friendly communities in Sydney, helped by organisations such as yours (ITC) that bring people together. We hope to start and raise our own family here one day.

Why did you decide to open a yoga studio in Lane Cove?

I love children, and I’m training to be a doula plus I have a wealth of experience working alongside midwives and doulas in the community. With almost a decade of yoga and pilates experience, it made sense to combine my love of helping mothers and mothers to be in a family oriented community. I also recognised the need for a boutique studio with more personal attention to each client regarding their goals with small enough classes to see they meet those goals.

What is your favourite thing to do in Lane Cove?

The studio is my passion! When I’m not working, I’m sampling the many, many amazing places to eat a wholesome meal in The Cove. I like to eat and shop locally and spread the love, supporting different businesses. It’s good to help each other where we can.

What is your best relaxation tip?

Create and enjoy a ritual just for yourself every day. After a day of classes, my ritual is to collect a sweet treat on the way home (I know, I know…) and then pop on a little Netflix before I’m out like a light.

It is always a delight to catch up with Tatiana as she always has a smile on her face and we regularly see her around Lane Cove.
