Police Report Highlights Incidents Near Railway Stations

    This week’s Lower North Shore Area Command police report has a few incidents, that although they are not in Lane Cove, are worth noting and discussing with your family.

    Drug Arrests – North Sydney

    Seventeen people were arrested by police attempting to take prohibited drugs into an electronic dance music event held in North Sydney over the weekend.

    Police attended the event around 3:00pm Sunday 20th October and with the aid of a NSW Police Drug Detection Dog searched a number of people in the vicinity of Miller Street and Blue Street. In total 26 drug charges were laid with a further 8 people being issued a caution for Cannabis possession.

    Act of Indecency – North Sydney

    Around 11:40am Sunday 20th October a young woman was waiting for a bus outside North Sydney Railway Station. At this time she was approached by a male who began chatting to her. As the pair waited for the bus the young woman noticed the male was performing an indecent act upon himself.

    The male is described as being of Asian appearance at the time carrying a red sports bag, wearing a blue jacket and grey shorts.

    ITC was advised of an incident over the weekend where a person was driving on Burns Bay Road near Linley Point when they saw a man standing by the roadside with his genitals exposed. It looked like he may have been taking a photo of his genitals as he had his phone in both hands. He was wearing a black bicycle helmet and, a dark T-shirt. He had a bike with him.  If you see an incident like this please report it to the police (on the numbers above).

    Armed Robbery – Artarmon

    A 16 year old boy has undergone surgery following a robbery at knifepoint in Artarmon over the weekend.

    Around 5:00pm Sunday 20th October the boy left a friends house and walked along Valetta Lane towards Artarmon Railway Station. While walking along Valetta Lane the boy was approached by a male who produced a knife and demanded he hand over cash. The boy grabbed the knife, in the process sustaining a deep laceration to the palm of his hand. The pair fell to the ground in a brief scuffle before the victim was able to flee.

    The offender is described as male Caucasian, aged in his early twenties, approximately 180cm tall, slim build with pimples, wearing a dark hooded jumper.     Note two of these incidents occurred near a train station.
