Man Charged For Stealing from His Lane Cove North Neighbour

    Police have charged a 60-year-old Lane Cove North man with breaking into the home of his recently deceased neighbour and stealing several thousand dollars worth of property.

    Shortly before midday on Sunday 8th, December police were called to a unit complex on Mowbray Road West, Lane Cove North. A carer for the recently deceased resident had attended the home and discovered the front door of the property ajar and items including a television and other electronic devices missing. The carer spoke with a number of neighbours before allegedly spotting some of the stolen items in the home of the 60-year-old accused.

    Police attended the location and spoke with the accused, a search warrant was obtained where police located the deceased man’s property. The accused was arrested and taken to Chatswood Police Station where he was charged with Break Enter and Steal, he was granted bail to face court in next month.
