Cafe Osheare
There is a new cafe in Lane Cove North called Cafe Osheare. It is located right next to Springbok Delights on Mowbray Road. It is also right across from Mowbray Public School.
Little Ele – New Online Sustainable Business
Swimwear brand, Little ele has been launched by Lane Cove local, Tarli, a mother to Gisele (4) and Max (2). Little ele’s mission is to create simple and classic pieces for little ones. The range includes girls and boys kids resort and swimwear ranges for 6 months to 5 years in age.
Their swim range is made from a sustainable fabric called ECONYL® from Europe. It’s a high-end recyclable nylon fabric made from waste products such as discarded fishing nets.

Refurbishments
The Longueville Sporting Club continues to refurbish their premises. After a new roof, upgrade of the function hall and reception centre, the toilets have now had a facelift. To celebrate the refurbishments they have introduced changes to the bistro and now every Thursday Night is steak night. – $15 T-Bone Steak now available
With the recent rain, the greens are looking a verdant green and Lawn Bowls is booming. Over the past month, the Diddy has seen more members and visitors on the greens enjoying a bowl and a beverage than they have in a long time!
A great activity to do with your mates, your family or your partner! $10 visitors and $5 for members
You will also be able to see every Rugby League Game and AFL game at the Diddy this football season.

First Learning Child Care Centre in the Lane Cove West Business Park has closed.
As at the 4th March 2020, the Lane Cove West Drycleaner was locked out of their premises. The Drycleaners have advised clients they are operating from Redfern and will provide a door to door service. They have also advised customers that they are looking for new premises in Lane Cove.

Congratulations to George who has been promoted to Manager at Jack & Co Northwood. George is so helpful. If you need something he will look after you.

Trendsetter has been a sponsor of ITC since we started and without their help, we would not have been able to go from strength to strength. A message below from Adrienne Witteman, owner Trendsetter Travel and Cruise Centre.
“During the last six months, I have been reviewing our business and the value of having two sites – one at Lane Cove and the original at Northwood/Longueville (NOLO). Operating conditions continue to change within the travel industry and we too must evolve with those changes if we are to continue to serve you well, and prosper. To that end, I have decided to close our Lane Cove location.
The primary reasons for the decision were:
1. The rent – it is no secret that Lane Cove is not a cheap place to rent and while Lane Cove Market Place was affordable in the early days, shelling out $120,000+ per year with more increases in sight has become unsustainable.
2. Staffing issues – my staff have all been travel dream makers for a long time and thus can create wonderful holidays for you. However, as they get older, they seek an enhanced work/life balance with fewer hours. Not unjustifiably! This is hard to manage in tandem with shopping centre opening hours requirements/holidays/ship inspections/staff training etc.
3. The changing nature of travel – we love our clients, we love to see you and work with you to fulfil your travel objectives. And we will still do that at NOLO. However, we will be better able to focus our efforts and better serve our committed existing and new clientele in a less mainstream location with fewer interruptions. Much of our business is in fact now handled by phone or email reflecting how needs have changed so it makes sense to downsize our physical footprint.
I’d like to reassure you that Trendsetter Travel & Cruise Centre has been profitable since our inception in 1992, and continues to be so, despite these uncertain times. We own our NOLO location, and as an ATAS member, surpass the fiduciary checks necessary to gain that moniker.
Trendsetter has always thrived, competently organising all of your comprehensive travel requirements (air/cruising/touring/rail/hotels/resort stays) and continues to receive many industry awards and accolades. We operate highly popular Art Tours in conjunction with Pamela Fairburn Art, and since 2015, an immensely successful Golf and Cruise Tour business. We are one of 50 members of the luxury affiliate brand, Virtuoso, in Australia, and as a Magellan member, also part of Helloworld. Locally, our cruise experience and knowledge is unsurpassed.
How will this affect you?
- Andrea, Greg, Tanja, Judy and I will all now work out of only the Northwood/Longueville office and the Lane Cove office will cease to exist effective 01 March 2020;
- The Northwood office address is 3 Northwood Road, Northwood, located between Porters Liquor and Caltex – and there is plenty of offsite parking;
- Our hours of operation will be 0900 – 1700 daily with afterhours and Saturday consultations by appointment;
- The telephone number at Northwood is 94285900, though we will continue existing phone numbers for the time being;
- Our email addresses remain unchanged.
I appreciate that change can often be unsettling and inconvenient and apologise that the closure of our Lane Cove office may not be ideal for your personal circumstances. Nonetheless, the Trendsetter Team and I sincerely hope that we will retain your trust and confidence when it comes to arranging your travel.
