Bec and Bel Lane Cove – Sustainable Designer Fashion

Late last year, Australian Vogue declared the future of fashion is circular.  Consumers all around the world are shifting from a possession culture to a usage culture.  Now Lane Cove locals can get involved in the fashion circular economy by buying and selling pre-loved or unworn designer clothes and accessories.

Two local mums, who are passionate about fashion and sustainability, have opened Lane Cove’s first designer consignment store called Bec and Bel.

Bec and Bel are located in the Lane Cove Arcade (the arcade where you will find Four Frogs and just across from McGraths Lane Cove).  Their store is one of only a few designer consignment stores located on the North Shore.

Bec and Bel curate luxury and high-end fashion including clothing, shoes, designer handbags and accessories.  Their stock includes “pre-loved” fashion as well as brand new, unworn items.

Bec and Bel offer a full range of designer brands including international brands such as Gucci, Dior, Chanel, Jimmy Choo and Prada to local outfitters such as Zimmerman, Camilla Franks and Sass and Bide.

Let’s face it; we have all made questionable fashion choices.  What you think might look good on you in a store fitting room, might not look as good when you get it home.  Don’t let that wrong choice take up precious wardrobe space gathering dust, only to be thrown out when you finally decide to do a Maria Kondo.  Resell your designer clothes and save them from being added to landfill.  What may not suit you, might be fabulous on someone else (and visa versa).

Each time you visit Bec and Bel there will be new designer clothes and accessories to discover.  You might just walk in when your favourite designer clothes hit the racks!!  When you see something you love, grab it.  No doubt, others will love the items as much as you, and it won’t be there next time you come in.  It’s exciting to be able to buy designer clothes at an affordable price and even more exciting to be part of sustainable fashion.

Meet the Founders of Bec and Bel

Bec and Bel came about in July 2020, after co-founders Rebeca Carter and Belinda Young lost their regular incomes because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Rebeca, a marketeer with her own Travel PR and Marketing company, and Belinda, a corporate lawyer, got together to try something new… and Bec and Bel was born.

Being mothers with young children, they both wanted to start a new business that had a focus on sustainability and reducing the impact the luxury clothing industry has on the planet. Also, they will invest a portion of their profit to support local women’s charities and aim to help women in need.

Give the Gift of Sustainability This Year

If you know someone who loves designer clothes and accessories, but you are not sure which designer outfit to choose, why not purchase a gift card from Bec and Bel?  Their gift cards are presented in a beautiful gift box.  You will be saving the planet, one designer gift at the time, and also making someone’s day.
