ITC spoke to Morrice Street resident Jon about the incident.  John told us.”

“We were sitting in our living room when we heard crashing and banging in our storage room.  We went to open the door, and someone was pushing it from the other side.  The door opened, and a man was standing there with an axe.  He did not threaten us, and he nonchalantly walked up the street.  We immediately called 000 and then decided to follow him at a distance.  Within 3 minutes the police had arrived and found him in a garden.  He had smashed several letterboxes with the axe.  It looks like our neighbours had also called the police as they were very quick.”

This is the second arrest made by police this week.
