Lane Cove Fun Run – Running, Walking, Eating, Dancing and Community

The Lane Cove Fun Run is an amazing community event.  It is organised by the Lane Cove Public School, but they also put in a HUGE effort for it to be a community event for all runners, joggers, walkers, families and more.  There is the 5 KM for the serious runners, and then the 2Km fun fun run for families.

The event also raises money for Sydney Community Services with 10% of the net proceeds being donated by the school.

Sydney Community Services is a local not-for-profit organisation that helps seniors, people with a disability and their carers live independently in their own home and in their community.

This year the Lane Cove Fun Run has supersized.  After the run has finished and the local streets reopen, but there is food, entertainment, games, and don’t forget community spirit!

If you don’t want to run in the Fun Run come on down to Kingsford Smith Oval Longueville and enjoy a family outing.  This year there will be entertainment and activities right up to midday!

The Lane Cove Fun Run is 100% organised by volunteers, and its sponsors are all local businesses that believe in the importance of giving back to their local community.

Where Should We Park and Road Closures?

The organisers of the Lane Cove Fun Run thank all local residents for their patience, understanding and support during our community event.

Due to Road Closures, you are encouraged to cycle, walk or scooter from Northwood, Riverview or Lane Cove. Please respect the needs of the residents of Longueville and do not try to find a parking space in Longueville, particularly along William Edward Street which becomes blocked to two-way traffic if cars are parked in both directions. Plenty of public parking is available at council car parks in Lane Cove shops and along Longueville Road north of River Road. From there it is an easy downhill walk to Kingsford Smith Oval.

For the safety of runners there will be full and partial road closures along the entire route of the 2km and 5km events. Details about Road Closures here.

We look forward to seeing you on the day as ITC is a big fan of this event.  Thank you to the Lane Cove Council for supporting this event.
