North Shore Police Area Command – Police Report Week ending 14 September 2022

    The North Shore Police Area Command has advised of the following incident in the lower North Shore in the week ending 14 September 2022.

    H90568146 – Mid Range Drink Driving – Greenwich – 08/09/2022

    Police have charged a 62-year-old male with mid-range drink driving after he was stopped on the Pacific Highway at Greenwich.

    About 11:25pm on Thursday 8th September, police stopped a grey Saab for the purposes of a breath test.  The male driver allegedly returned a positive roadside result and was subsequently arrested and conveyed to Chatswood Police Station.

    E90666748 – Break and Enter – St Leonards – 10/09/2022

    Police are calling for any witness’ to come forward after an alleged break and enter incident at two-unit complexes on the Pacific Highway, St Leonards.  Police have been told 6 males gained entry to two separate unit complexes around 1:30pm on Saturday 10th September 2022 and allegedly stole multiple items including 2 x motorbikes, 1 x push bike, 1 x electric scooter and other miscellaneous items.

    The North Shore Proactive Crime Team is investigating and believe that some of the residents may have witnessed the males coming and going from the complex and are asking for anyone that might have noticed any suspicious activity to please contact North Shore Police on 9414 8499 or Crime Stoppers (1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppers.com.au).

    H92355382 – Drive While Licence Suspended – Waverton – 07/09/2022

    An 18-year-old Wiley Park man has been charged with driving whilst his licence was allegedly suspended.

    At 3:30am on Wednesday 7th September police were patrolling Larkin Street, Waverton when they noticed a white Toyota Carola.  Police will allege that as they drove towards the vehicle, they noticed two people get into the vehicle and immediately drive off and in doing so, a cup of drink that was left on the roof of the vehicle, fell off.

    Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the male driver who allegedly told police he did not have a licence.  Police will allege in court that checks confirmed the male’s driver’s licence was suspended until 9th September 2022. The male was issued with a Court Attendance Notice and is due to appear at Hornsby Local court on the 20th of October.

    E92780616 – Possess Prohibited Drug – North Sydney – 11/09/2022

    A 29 year old Ultimo man will face Manly Local Court in October after allegedly being found in possession of a prohibited drug.

    On the 11th of September, police were conducting an operation at a licenced premises in North Sydney targeting the possession and supply of prohibited drugs and were utilising a drug detection dog to assist with this.

    Around 5:30pm a male came under police notice for allegedly attempting to avoid the drug detection dog. Police will allege in court that the drug detection dog approached the male and indicated a scent of prohibited drugs.

    Police had a conversation with the male after which they decided to search him.  Police will allege that the male told police that he was in possession of MDMD (3,4-Methylenedioxymethylamphetamine) “caps”.  During the search police will allege that they located two clear resealable plastic bags containing 15 capsules of MDMA.

    E92745316 – Stealing – Chatswood – 09/09/2022

    A 28-year-old woman from San Remo and a 34-year-old male from Point Frederick have both been charged with stealing offences after an incident in a Chatswood Shopping centre.

    Police will allege that the pair came to Chatswood around 1:55pm on Friday 9th September in a vehicle and entered a number of stores within a Shopping Centre.  Whilst in the various stores, the pair allegedly stole items totalling more than $2,700.  Police were alerted to the actions of the pair and followed them back to the vehicle. At the vehicle the pair were arrested and in a search of the vehicle, the stolen property recovered.

    The male and female were conveyed to Chatswood Police Station where they were both charged with stealing and armed with intent commit indictable offence.  Both were bail refused and appeared at Parramatta Local court where they were formally refused bail.  They are next due at Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday 14th September 2022.

    E 90251214 – Affray – Milsons Point – 11/09/2022

    Police area appealing for information from the public about a brawl between five men about 4.35pm on Sunday 11 September 2022, at Luna Park, Milsons Point.

    Officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command attended with three men arrested and charged with affray.

    As inquiries into the incident continue, police want to speak with two men who may be able assist with the investigation.

    One man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 20-30 years old, about 175cm tall, of medium build, with black hair and beard. He was seen wearing a black t-shirt, black track pants with white stripes down the right leg, white runners, and was carrying a “man bag”.

    The other man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 20-30 years old, about 180cm tall with medium build, has long black hair in a pony tail, with a black goatee beard and moustache. He was seen wearing a grey hoodie, black track pants with a white stripe down the right leg, and white runners.
