After a pretty crappy couple of years worldwide, and in the midst of the Climate Crisis, it was challenging for Artist and Gallery Director and Lane Cove local, Bridget Kennedy, to contemplate whether to hold a Christmas show this year.

A strong supporter of handmade artisan crafts, she struggled to create more ‘product’ by digging into the guts of our poor, fragile planet.

So she invited a mix of world renowned, mid career and emerging artists to convert discarded, costume jewellery into the precious, using less to create more.

These resulting pieces of remade-reloved jewellery provide an opportunity for renewal,to write new narratives and reassess our meaning of precious.

Remade-Reloved runs from 1-24 December. Join us for our opening celebration and Christmas cheer on Thursday the 1st of December from 6-8pm.  Details here.

Friday 2 December 2022 – Last Day to Post Your Letter to Santa at the Lane Cove Post Office

A few weeks ago In The Covespotted the Santa Mail Box at the Lane Cove Post Office.  It’s never too early to get those letters to Santa ready (and for mum and dad to take a photo of the letter in case the letter gets “lost” in the mail).

According to Australia Post, sacks of letters have already started arriving at the North Pole from eager kids and they say there are some key dates to ensure everyone gets a response before Santa and his elves get busy loading the sleigh for Christmas Eve.

Santa Letter Cut-Off Dates

With more than 118,000 letters received last year, Santa needs families to post their letters before 2 December, while schools need to get ready a little earlier and have their letters sent by 24 November.
