The Lane Cove Community Bands (LCCB) currently has over 200 members across six ensembles: three concert bands (ranging from novice to advanced), a woodwind ensemble, a small jazz ensemble, and a big band.
This year, LCCB is looking to expand even further by adding a choir and a beginner jazz ensemble to the program. Expressions of interest are invited from new, current, and returning musicians alike.
These new ensembles are designed to be low-stress and just for fun. They aim to give members the opportunity to explore their musicality, connect with others in the music community, and build new friendships in the local area. There are no auditions — just come along and join in!
Beginner Jazz Ensemble
The Beginner Jazz Ensemble will suit current musicians of any ability on woodwind, brass, keys, or percussion.
The ensemble will explore classic jazz repertoire while learning about jazz styles and swing feel, developing listening and ensemble skills, and introducing improvisation.
Rehearsals will take place in the local area, most likely on a Sunday or Monday evening (TBC).
LCCB Choir
The LCCB Choir aims to provide a relaxed and friendly environment where people can enjoy singing together. No auditions or prior experience are required, and you do not need to read music.
LCCB will explore simple harmonies, learn great songs together, and build confidence in a supportive group. Adult singers of all voice types are welcome.
Rehearsals will take place in the local area on Wednesday evenings (TBC).
