A proposed 30-storey tower at 28-42 Pacific Highway, St Leonards has been knocked back for the NSW Government’s fast-track planning pathway.
The Housing Delivery Authority did not recommend the project for State Significant Development status at its 15 September briefing. The site sits on the Lane Cove side of the highway.
Applicant Paro Planning, also behind a fast-track bid on Longueville Road, proposed a shop-top housing building with about 155 homes and 10% affordable housing in perpetuity. It also sought a rezoning of the site.
The HDA found the proposal fell short on strategic merit and the scale of changes it wanted to planning controls. The briefing record notes it is inconsistent with the recently applied Transport Oriented Development controls.
