Lane Cove Rotary Fair and Sustainability Lane Returns for 2026

Everybody loves a fair, and Lane Cove residents love the Lane Cove Rotary Fair and Sustainability Lane. Mark your diary now, because it is back for 2026 on Sunday 11 October, 9am to 4pm.

Thousands of people turn out every year and you will almost certainly bump into half of Lane Cove while you are there. Last year over 18,000 people packed the Village, up from an estimated 17,000 the year before, so expect it to be busy and brilliant.

The rides will be back on Burns Bay Road, the two entertainment stages will be running all day, and Sustainability Lane returns at The Canopy. Here is what to know before you go.

What is at the Fair?

The Lane Cove Rotary Fair is organised by Lane Cove Rotary and is loved by young and old alike. It features live music and entertainment, food, market stalls, rides and displays by community organisations and emergency services. Find out more at the Lane Cove Rotary Fair website.

Lane Cove Rotary will have the BBQ fired up and ready to go, and let us be honest, who does not enjoy a snag at a fair. There will be egg and bacon rolls in the morning too.

In the Cove will have a stall at the Fair and we would love to meet you there. Please come along and say hi. We will have giveaways, competitions, a few surprises and of course our world famous Lane Cove tea towels.

Petting Zoo

A mobile petting zoo returns to The Canopy, near the Live Music Zone. Children can feed and play with popular farm animals inside a safe, secure enclosure with friendly, trained staff on hand.

Face Painting

There will be face painting stations in the Lane Cove Plaza and near The Lane Cove Toy Library.

Rides

The rides return on Burns Bay Road, outside the Lane Cove Toy Library and Harris Farm Markets, along with the ever popular fairy floss. You can buy ride tickets on the day.

Market Stalls

Market stalls run along Longueville Road, throughout the Lane Cove Plaza and at the entrance to The Canopy, with local businesses and community groups on display.

Entertainment Schedule

Sustainability Lane

Sustainability Lane is a fun, family friendly event organised by Lane Cove Council that promotes sustainable and eco friendly living for the whole community to enjoy. It runs at The Canopy in conjunction with the Fair.

Pop by to see the electric vehicles on display, join a sustainability themed workshop, learn basic bike repairs, win prizes, hear from community organisations and take home a free native plant. Lane Cove Shops

While you are in the Village, take some time to shop local. Many of the Lane Cove shops will be open on the day.

Logistics

Road Closures and Bus Diversions

Road closures typically run from 6am to 7pm on event day. Based on previous years:

• Longueville Road between Birdwood Avenue and Central Avenue closed to traffic
• Burns Bay Road between Tambourine Bay Road and Finlayson Street
• The Birdwood and Rosenthal Lanes Shared Zone closed to traffic, with access for business owners and residents
• Birdwood Avenue and Longueville Road intersection on flashing amber, no right turn into Longueville Road from Birdwood Avenue
• Traffic controllers to walk resident vehicles down Birdwood Lane where possible
• Little Street and Longueville Road intersection operating as normal

Bus Route 254 is usually diverted both ways. Check with your transport provider closer to the day for confirmed diversions.

Emergency Services

Kids love the flashing lights, and Fire and Rescue NSW and the SES are expected to be there again.

Mega Raffle

Look for the Lane Cove Rotary tent and buy a raffle ticket, the prizes are seriously good. More details on the Mega Raffle page.

Food

Everyone loves a snag, and Lane Cove Rotary will be cooking up a storm all day near the top of the Plaza. Get in early for bacon and egg rolls in the morning.

What happens if it rains?

The Fair is an outdoor, all weather event. Rather than bringing an umbrella, we suggest tucking a disposable poncho in your bag just in case.

Need assistance on the day?

If you need medical or security assistance for any reason, head to the Lane Cove Rotary Fair Tent in the middle of the Lane Cove Plaza.

Lost something?

Lost and found property goes to the Lane Cove Rotary Fair Tent. Uncollected items are taken to the Lane Cove Council offices and held for up to four weeks, after which they are passed on to charity.

Where can I park?

Parking is available at the Lane Cove Market Square Car Park, Harris Farm Car Park and The Canopy Car Park, with displayed rates applying. Honestly though, it is best to walk if you can.

Is it suitable for people with mobility needs or parents with prams?

Yes. The Fair is at street level and easily navigable, with accessible toilet facilities available at The Canopy.
